Now don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of many of the songs in Rock Band and have felt that DLC has offered a strong selection of quality tunes, but it just seems to me that there's a whole section of music missing that would be perfect for the game. Clearly I'm talking about funk.
I mean, there are few artists as universally appreciated as George Clinton and Prince... So it seems to me that it'd be natural to get some Parliament or Prince & The Revolution... both having plenty of songs that would play well...
And as an off-shoot to that... what about some of the more band oriented hip hop out there? Stetsasonic... The Roots...
Or to take it in another direction... some funk metal? Wouldn't be as much of a changeup as the others but some Fishbone or Infectious Grooves would be a good addition as well...
Clearly there's great opportunities out there beyond the acts I've mentioned... But I'm trying to keep my suggestions to acts who are more widely known since it's territory not really explored in the Rock Band series thus far...
