When you use the lower neck buttons, they just feel like your really acomplishing something different than what you play in other parts of the song. I always feel satisfied at the end of a solo, and some of them I only pass because I used the tight buttons. Great Job HMX.
Also Drum solos (or "improvisation periods") are fantastic...I try to mix it up every time.

I'm with ya man. HMX really knows how to make you feel like a rocker (*ahem* unlike Neversoft *ahem*) I LOVE THIS GAME! I LOVE HARMONIX! :p

When I'm able to make the switch from the normal ones to the solo ones, it is pretty awesome. But most the time, I can't seem to do it and I just think "**** it".

It's not a war you fanboy, there have been plenty of times where I have felt like I am cool playing Guitar Hero, I'm sure Rock Band gives you the same high if not a little more so *ahem*you're just an ********ahem*

I don't know about anyone else, but I use the solo buttons for everything all the time. I find I'm more accurate with them. I never played GH tho.

I LOVE THE NEW BUTTONS... but! I really do feel like I'm cheating not having to strum, though.

I love using the solo buttons. They feel so awesome, which is why I'm really pissed my strum bar broke.

What you you do is you strum at certain periods, like if a red coming at you then a green is coming at you with a green right behind it you strum red, pull off to green then strum the second green.

Can someone explain what HO/POs are? I've never played GH.

Hammer-ons and pull-offs. Hitting notes without strumming.

I like them but they're too difficult to use, gotta get used to them, but on GGHT and Ride the Lightning solos they're need in certain parts

In the solo sections the game lets you HO/PO freely with the upper frets, and it's easier to say Hammer on or Pull off when talking about strumming
