Missing Guitar!

I cant believe I get my bundle home tonight and crack it open to find... no guitar??? am i missing something? they dont sell a bundle without the guitar do they?

Anybody know what I should do?

go to http://support.ea.com/rockband

log in with your ea account. they have choice in there to get a replacement guitar for any missing guitar. not sure exactly how it works, but its on their support page. good luck! thats such a bummer though. :-/

Do ya blame them? I'd imagine a few dozen ps3 owners already tried the "my guitar was missing" trick.

How about you call them and talk to the warranty support people before making unwarranted (sorry for the pun) claims? Let us know what they say.

Why just PS3 owners?

Because that's the ONLY guitar you can use right now on PS3 and the bundle is the ONLY place you can get a 2nd one if you want to play Bass on the PS3.

Specialized demand = ultra high = desperate people = desperate measures.

I'm sure some unscrupulous people have already resorted to pilfering the only guitar available to play bass on for PS3 leading to fraudulent/incomplete returns for refund.

Sure, there may be some situations where people would try to fraudulently obtain a 2nd 360 guitar, but the risk/reward is much higher. If you can just pay $60 (or less used) for an Explorer or other controller for the 360, a person REALLY wanting to play with a full band is less likely to commit a crime than if the ONLY way you have of getting a 2nd controller is through fraud/theft.

You may have run into a return that someone carefully opened and then re-packaged after swiping the guitar.

I'd check with the retailer (yeah, yeah - I know what the pink slip in the box says) just to see if the actual box you got was purchased and returned by someone claiming the "wrong system" or that it's a "gift" they want to return. You might be able to work with EA and the retailer to iron out a compromise or investigate it further.

Otherwise, it's your word against theirs and I'm not sure they're going to give many PS3 owners the benefit of the doubt right now given the 2nd guitar issue they know about all too well.

You're correct. I shouldnt have said that without calling first, and I wasnt trying to be derrogatory.

I just have a SNEAKY feeling that EA and HMX KNEW about the guitar issues....and it was too late to stop production...so they shipped them out...some without with intent to replace them when the games went out....Reason..replacement of the guitar SURE IS EASY no fuss, no muss. They knew...HAD to of.
