View Full Version : Can't connect to Rock Central

There's already some mention of this in the main Rock Band forum (http://community.rockband.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=8164&page=2), but I figured it should be in technical support. I'm having a weird problem on my 360 where my profile cannot connect to Rock Central. Other profiles on my system can connect just fine. My brother and I both have Xbox Gold subscriptions. When he signs into Rock Band, Rock Central and the Leader Board are visible almost instantaneously. When he signs out and I sign in, the "Attempting to connect to Rock Central" message stays above the main Community menu for minutes and never establishes a connection. I can't update my scores, I can't see the leaderboard, and I can't play online. It's quite frustrating. I revived my Gold Subscription last week specifically for Rock Band, and apparently I can't do anything with it. Help?

Me too. My primary profile can sign in but my second one cannot. Also, gamertag is not listed as friends on the leaderboards.

Must be an issue with having two gamertags on one 360.

Same here. My account works, but my sister's doesn't. We're both Live Gold members, and our World Tour Band registers on the leaderboards, but her single account can't connect to the Rock Central server, so she can't see her individual performances on the leaderboards.

This is bizarre and it never came up in testing. I'll forward it on to a programmer and see if they've got any ideas.

Can you PM me with an answer to each of the following questions? We're looking into this right now. Thanks!

- What is your gamertag?
- When did you fist notice the problem? (as specifically as possible)
- Were you initially able to connect and then couldn’t or if it has always been this way?
- Are you still having problems connecting to Rock Central with your gamer tag even though another gamer tag on the same machine is connecting?

Thanks! Any info you can provide will help us immensely!

Just bumping this because I got home and still cant connect. I PMed Sean the info this afternoon while at work. Seems like some others started working, so I'll hope for the best. Thanks!

Edit: Just used my roomates gamertag and he got connected to Rock Central and was able to look at leaderboards just fine. Signed him out, signed myself back in, and it wont work. We're both XBox Live Gold Members. I PM'd Sean my gamertag earlier in the day, but if anyone can help Id be glad to give them any info.

Hate to keep bumping this - but I also am not showing up on the leaderboard. I have a carrer score of roughly 4,000,000 - Im on GG&HT on Expert, havent played any bonus tour yet.

My roomate signed in, and suddenly I could get to Rock Central and the boards - but it says Im unranked and need to play. Even when I access the leaderboards from my practice space.

Very odd - anything anyone could do to help would be great.

No other XBL accounts on the system

I pm'd my info here yesterday to try and get help and still no response.

Then I went to EA's support site. Mistake. No help there.

And no help from the support number either.

I'm up the creek without a paddle.

I PM'd Sean too... but just a suggestion for those of you who aren't aware yet. If you sign in on a secondary instrument with the gamertag that CAN access Rock Central, and then sign in on your preferred instrument with your own gamertag, your scores will register. It's a pain, but it works. The fastest way to check is to go to the community submenu and wait until the message at the top of the page says "Welcome to Rock Band." Sometimes I actually need to sign the main gamertag out and then sign back in (still without signing myself in) to get the connection. But once it's connected, signing in with my own gamertag doesn't sever the connection.

This is happening to me too-- I was able to log into Rock Central, but none of my points/scores are on the leaderboard! All that playing for zero credit? Ouch........ =(

Isn't there someone who can get our scores recognized by the leaderboard?

We think we have a pretty good idea of the problem now and are working on a fix. We are looking to implement the fix during routine server maintenance on Monday morning 8am - 11am EST. You won't need to download a patch or anything. This should be fixed server side. After that your new scores should upload to the leaderboards.

In the mean time, over the weekend, if you are looking for a work around - have a second profile signed on that can connect to the servers while you play with the profile that can't. It should update to the leaderboards that way.

Hate to bother you guys even more Sean - but Im just curious - when the fix happens, will it update from that point on, or will it be able to load everything we did PRIOR to the fix to the leaderboards.

Also wondering when the fix will happen. Been almost two weeks of playing and my scores aren't being uploaded.

Part of the fun for me is comparing how I do with others in single player, and I don't have that ability. It is actually starting to hamper whether or not I want to play the game.

Please let us know when to expect this. I hope it's not weeks or months.

we are having the same problem. my husband is the main profile on our 360, and i can check the leaderboards and he can't. weird thing is that i have a silver account, he has a gold. also, he can play online just fine against other people in matches...it's just the leaderboards that he can't use or view.

Does this mean that you can get on the leaderboards with silver accounts, or does a band member need a gold account for it to work at all?

Stupid Question - Why do the profiles connect to central server (many times after songs). Does this mean there's like a top 1000 list or what not?
