I don't think this has been posted yet but, after updating my PS3's firmware, which basically allowed you to set powersave settings. Turning the "Turn wireless controllers off when not in use for xx minutes" option on will turn all your controllers off after xx minutes of no use. So if you've got to do a number 2 on the toilet or what-have-you, it's going to turn off your drums (although the light stays on, at least on the RB1 set), your guitar (although it disconnects anyways), the mic stays on. The problem is that if power save has occurred the only way to resync to the game is to exit and restart the game, even with the drums. I'm not sure if this is a software problem or a hardware problem. But, I thought I'd throw that out there. Oh and this occurred on the RB2 game, I haven't tried to see if it happens on RB1 yet.

You can just hit the PS button and it will reawaken. You don't have to exit the game.

Not with the RB1 drums, at least. Like OP said, the light stays on but the set is completely unresponsive.

I just unplug mine and plug them back in, then reassign that controller to whatever slot the game is telling me to plug my drums/guitar into.

This is kind of annoying, wish there was a way to tell the PS3 not to do this with these controllers. Auto-off is a nice feature for real controllers, and I don't want to have to manually turn it on/off everytime i switch b/w RB and another game (kinda defeats the whole purpose).

BUT, for once, I'm not going to blame HMX for this PS3 blunder. This one really ISN'T their fault. Sony lacked the foresight to hardwire this into their controllers.

Pushing the PS button doesn't work to relink the guitar after power saver has kicked on. It works if you can catch it prior to the event happening, but otherwise it's like defjukie said, totally unresponsive, including holding the PS button to reassign the controller, at least mine wont let me and yes it does work if you unplug then replug your drums and reassign, but not for guitar.

I had the same issue. For the guitars, try unplugging all of the USB ports (especially if you have 2 wireless guitars hooked up). I just turned off that feature. Since the PS3 controllers are rechargeable, it isn't a huge deal if they die.

Major issues here with controllers. Quit and restart is only option. On Rock Band 2 if I start my ps3 with ps3 controller and then start rock band 2 with same controller then grab guitar or drums cant get them to work yes they are synced but wont do anything. Have to start game with whatever I want to play as ie guitar. Also if playing using guitar then someone comes over and turn on drums no good gotta exit back to xmb and restart. gotta be a software issue PLEASE FIX IT
Thanks
