Arghh.. it's so hard to read all those reviews and opinions of all these people here that already have Rock Band.

I still have to wait, and I have a bad feeling. Yeah, well, I probably don't have to wait as long as some other European people, since I'm importing the game, but my importshop still hasn't gotten it.

They told me, due to shortages they will not get the game until Dec.3rd ord Dec.5th.
And I'm actually having this bad feeling that I won't get it on that dates either.

I just want to play it on Christmas with my family and friends. :(

Hmmm...

The problem is, even if they get it on Dec.3rd and ship it to me, it still takes one week to get to me. And then I have to purchase a US Xbox too (to make it work), which will take another week. So my time is limited... (And yeah, I'm not buying the 360 until I'm sure that I will get the game of course)


Who else is feeling the pain of waiting (and maybe the fear of never getting it, or not getting it on time to rock out on Christmas) at the moment?

And... whow... what if something is broken... then everything was for nothing...

I just checked ebay and there are actually some offerings that are not more expensive than my importshop. Actually they are even a few Euros cheaper.

Waiting and will keep on waiting until a little bit after Christmas or whenever the next shipment ships out. I heard about the game a bit too late. It also came out at a bad time as the only next gen console I have is the Wii which I got a few months earlier.

I'm really considering now to cancel my order at the importshop and buy one from ebay...

But well, I can't play until Dec. 4th anyway (have an exam), so I may wait until that time, and if my importshop still hasn't gotten any copies of the game, I will cancel it and buy one from ebay. :rolleyes:

really wierd. i found this over at the xbox forums, states rock band released in UK on 30 November 2007! i think they mean thats when they start to take pre-orders, and its only the game, not the SE. very strange.

I thought I'd be getting it sometime next week. But i got an e-mail today telling me that my bundle i ordered from gamestop in early october couldnt be sent due to shortages.

I'm sure they must be prioritising me last because i dont live in the US. I dont see how its fair that ppl who order a month or more later than me get the game b4 I do.

I am seriously fuc*ing pissed off right now, I've been waiting for this game for like 8 months. I'm one of the few people who have been on these boards since they opened at the start of april and I've been here every single day but 1 since then.

So what now? Well i can't call Gamestop because it's fricken thanksgiving or whatever over in the US so I got no idea when theyre next shipping is due in, how long i might have to wait or if i can cancel my order.

Luckily Sandra (some may know her as Daesania from the boards) is willing to help me out by buying a bundle and shipping it over to me. It'll cost me $350 ($120 more than at gamestop) but at least I know i'll have it b4 xmas. <3 sandra

Actually, I live in Austria, but yeah, I imported from a german importshop, importfun.de!
But well... I just called them and they would give me the money back if I really want to buy it on ebay.

Hmm... I have really no idea what to do. I probably will get the game from importfun, but maybe not until Dec. 10 or something.
But because I need to buy the 360 too, I don't have all the time in the world.

Damn... but I probably don't even have enough money to buy both the 360 and Rockband until December, so I have to wait anyway.

I'm not even sure if my Rock Band shipped for sure but the money was taken out of my account and I'm wondering if any person working for Rockbandstore.com could check if it was because I just found out there was a place 20 min. away with about 30 copies of Rock Band and I could really use a refund.

I don't even know who I should contact, since there is no austrian or german usps phone number and... I just have no idea where the package is. My tracking just says it's shipped internationally.

I also almost forgot that I probably have to pay a lot of custom duty too.

Damn, I should have just stick with my importshop order! They would have probably shipped it yesterday and I would have gotten it this week for sure, without any customs duty to pay.

I've been through this twice. I'm a PS3 owner in Australia and I bought the special edition bundle off sellers on Ebay TWICE!

What can I say, I want to be able to fill a 4-person band on xmas day.

Anyway, the second of the two bundles arrived today. Both packages took anywhere between 5-7 days to get to me from the US, and I didn't have to pay any kind of tax either time. Both arrived in customs, and were then cleared from customs, inside of about an hour, tops.

Good luck. I'm loving being one of the only guys in Australia to have at least one copy, and probably the only one to have TWO! :)

I'm in the same boat as Lazerus101 and Mushroom, stuck in the UK with no specific release date yet. I'm a patriotic kind of guy but, at times like these (stupidly high taxes, cold weather AND no Rock Band), emigration seems like a reasonable idea. ;)

Anyway, I just called the Post of Austria and they told me that they received the information that such a package should arrive here but it hasn't arrived so far. The man on the phone told me that it could have happened that somebody shipped it to Australia instead of Austria, which is, according to the man on the phone, happening often, unfortunately.
Man, that would suck, I hope that's not the case.
Well, I wrote the ebay seller again, hopefully he can contact USPS and find out where the package REALLY is.

The first package was sent via USPS priority and arrived in 5 working days. The second package was sent via USPS express and arrived in 4 working days.

All in all I found the service really good. The tracking website updated it's progress every step of the way, from when it was booked in and authorised to when it left, when it arrived in Australia, when it was checked in and then out of customs, and when it arrived at the post office and was then delivered. Even the exact delivery time for the first package was spot on, as I'd had it delivered to my work address and was there when it arrived.

You pay a bucketload for it, don't get me wrong, but I couldn't fault the world's postal service atall for getting both of those big special-edition packages from the US to down under in less than a week.

Same here, bought it for my 14yr old, we play GHI,II,III together so I can wait to see her when she get it. She want's it but we have PS2 now and she knows it only available for PS3, 360 so she does not think she getting it.

So I went and checked all online game shops i know/found and the ones that had Rock Band as a preorder (about 5 in Switzerland and 2 or 3 in Germany) all had the same release date: February 15 in Germany, March 7 in Switzerland.

Price for the Xbox 360 and PS3 bundle seems to be about 220 Swiss Francs (less than I expected).

I know, it's nothing official at all, but that's all I could find and I'm pretty sure, the game won't be released any earlier than that. So I guess we'll just have to wait for another 3 months, here in Switzerland...

There is no official release date for Europe, so we can only guess at the moment. But I'm pretty sure it will not be out before March.

Yes, that's basically what I was trying to say. I just wanted to share what I found (which isn't much at all). The Swiss shops that now have March 7 as release date didn't have any release date 1-2 weeks ago, so I guess they DID get at least some vague information, but then again, they could just be copying the date from each other. ;)

Point is, as they might have some information we don't have, I expect the game to be released at that date or sometime later in march (maybe even april), but certainly not before that date.

But I guess we will just have to wait for the official release date...

there's no info on that stuff on the internet somewhere? im not positive, but i think custom duty is based on declared value. i remember i bought some car parts from japan and wasnt too bad. almost like sales tax.

Thanks. Yeah, I think there is no chance to get replacements for broken instruments, so if anything doesn't work I'll try to fix it myself.
But hopefully there won't be any problems.

Oh, and bad news, I just called the shop where I ordered my Xbox, and you know what they told me? They haven't send the Box out yet!! THey will do that today...
Last week they told me the same thing!!

Argh... at least the guy on the phone assured me that it will be send out today and I will get it next week. Hope he's right.... :rolleyes:
