View Full Version : HMX - Can we please get some more Thrash/Grind/Death Metal?

I think it's fair enough to give us some more Thrash/Grind/Death metal. I mean the only thing close to that was the Metal pack with Evile/At the Gates/The Haunted... only 3 songs out of the 500 by Christmas?
Anyone else agree?

Sure, the more varied our DLC gets the more people the platform attracts. Same reason I'm for country, rap, hip-hop etc.
I wouldn't buy it, but sure.

I actually agree with that too. I would love to play some of "The Roots" on drums because Quest Love is a beast on those things.

I think people got sick of metal over that one month span of metal dlc. I would welcome it, but I'm certain people would moan over metal.

They don't listen to the songs, if the band's name sounds even remotely metal: OMg0z0a!! m3tla i5 swr33eem9nnkk!!1! moer t0p flo4rti3e5s5s pl0x@@2@@!
Then there's the: There's too much of metal, we need more Rush!
And worst of all: Where's my 90's music???

True, though I do usually get annoyed when all metal is thrown into a bin. Death metal and power metal is not the same :(
Speaking of that, power metal would be great... we don't even have one song!

No need to insult other requests. I want extreme metal, 90's stuff, and would welcome more Rush.

it matters not what gets put out people will complain no matter what. It's unavoidable.
I'd like to see some Cephalic Carnage

How could they moan about it? The last two months have had no metal in it.
I'm sick of RHCP/Nirvana/Rush/Motely Crue but I don't whine about releasing 10+ songs for each artist... We have three total songs of this genre, and I don't think a DLC pack is too much to ask for.

i think next in line should be doom metal, just to screw with the people whose complaint about metal is the tempo.

I am into all genres of metal and i would love to see more metal too. They should put some of the following bands on the game:
Exodus, Overkill, Tankard, Destruction, Sodom, Carcass, Byzantine, God Forbid, Kreator, Primal Fear, Hammerfall, Black Sabbath (original masters), more Judas Priest and Motorhead and there are tons more i would love to see. We have been getting lots of alternative lately which i don't mind but we do need more metal too. Maybe some classic rock albums too.

i enjoy a lot of thrash, but you'd be wise to also open up to jazz, blues, and other genres filled with difficult guitar-work.
i'd honestly rather see some of those holes filled than more thrash at this time.

Oh I love jazz/blues Stevie Ray Vaughn is one of my idles. I just feel like Rock Band is missing in this department while they just add alternative/pop/classic rock.

Alternative is eh. Pop is complete garbage and I'm all for classic rock. But even that has been severely lacking lately. Jazz and blues I'm cool with. Stevie Ray Vaughn would be a great addition to RB!

Personal opinion really. I'm quite happy with the amount of Metal that there is, and do not think that we need more right now.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Metal fans are by far the most vocal group here on the forums. Everyone else pretty much lobbies for certain bands, but Metal fans just want more metal period, for the most part.

I would like more progressive metal for the most part as I have yet to find a band I actually dislike in the genre. Hey, prog metal has 2 songs! It should get a DLC pack too... too bad barely anyone seems to recognize prog metal. I guess I should be happy with Constant Motion on DLC and Panic Attack as a master track, but that is only 2. It has less than Death/Thrash/Grind metal. I just noticed that. That's quite odd.
Oh, and I support Doom metal for messing with people.

I'm a HUGE thrash metal fan, and I'd love for more of it, but I guess I can understand why there isn't that big of a focus on metal for DLC. They seem to offer a lot of stuff that'll appeal to lots and lots of people, and most metal just doesn't have that appeal, unfortunately. And when it does, it's usually mainstream metalcore stuff that's not really that good to begin with.
And really, aside from the handful of Metallica and Megadeth songs, there's not a whole lot of thrash for DLC. :/ Only other one off the top of my head is Evile's "Thrasher". That "thrash" pack was a little disappointing, in the sense that At The Gates and The Haunted are not thrash (they may have some tiny hints of it, but ATG is more melodic death metal and The Haunted is... I dunno, groove metal/ metalcore, or something?). In my opinion, the pack should've contained two songs by other new thrash bands, like Municipal Waste, Gama Bomb, or Bonded By Blood. Evile is good, but they're not the only new thrash band that could use some exposure, yanno?

Yeah, I'm surprised Death (the band) hasn't been featured, yet. o_O I mean, weren't they pretty big, for the genre? I'd love to play Crystal Mountain!

How about Voice of the Soul? That'd kick a lot of people's asses! If YYZ is allowed then Voice of the Soul should be in as well. I can't say what other Death songs to put in, but I'd definitely buy a death pack.
That reminds me of that "death sticks" guy in Star Wars 2...

I'm a metal fan and I do more lobbying for Pantera than metal in general. But I do post for more metal in general, so I guess your not far off your point!

Until we get some Anthrax and Slayer in the game, we don't have enough thrash and metal. Seriously, how can we have Megadeth and Metallica and not Slayer and Anthrax as well? Bassists would be happy with Anthrax also and drummers would get some challenges on par with or exceeding Peace Sells with either group.
