I just recently busted out the micstand for RB and was playing with the guitar and cowbell. I just came into one solid problem though, the cowbell. I was wondering if there is any way to turn it off so i can achieve the propper score ratio or am i just going to be stuck with it on for a while (until possible patch?)

you can make a *pop* sound into the mic and itll register as the cowbell / tambourine

What seems to be the problem with the cowbell part of it? Can you not say pow or pop to activate it like the reviews have said?

just yell out "Bam" "Wam" "Pow" it should register it as if you had hit the mic like a Cowbell

Thanks Emkajeej and TheRocker for giving a try. I did that for a while, but my focus goes off cause i have to focus on the timing (not to mention the double/tripple consecutive cowbells in a row.)..

Making that noise jsut doesn't seem right and it takes alot of focus, maybe more practice against it...

And Credge, please read the Start of the topic before posting... Your post was rude and as of a "smart***"... But you just turned out dumb

I just headbutt the mic, but now I've got a strange looking welt on my forehead.

J/K , just picture that for a second hehehe

I was asking a genuine question as I haven't bought the game yet and am skeptical about it as I've seen many people complaining about it. Further, I've had several bad purchases with EA.

Oh, thats nice. But if you read the topic, you would also understand that im playing on both the guitar and the mic at the same time. I can't hit the mic like i normally would when im just doing the mic by itself (Clapping on it or hitting it again my leg). Since my hands our full (and doing a solo more or less), I would be either atm forced to headbutt it (which knocks it off my mic stand and into my drummer... happend already), or make the bopping noise which takes a lot more focus than it should.

I would hope you would re-read what I said. I asked why you couldn't give vocal ques, like pop or pow, just like the others mentioned.

Pot. Kettle again.

When I think of someone head-butting the mic while playing guitar, I can't help but picture Mike Tyson rocking back and forth while performing Monster Mash:

BTW, Mike would kick *ss at Rock Band

Well, I answered your first part of the question which is "What seems to be the problem of the cowbell part"..

but the way you made the second part seemed like a statement and i felt as if you were trying to dumb me down (especially with the part "pop to activate" and "Just like the reviews said".)

Sorry, seems we both had a misunderstanding.

Trick is to make s short sound effect noise.
Just make a quick sound like 'pshht!' like you are spitting (but don't spit).
Like of like a fake tamborine sound.

Pretty sure you can just ignore these parts and it doesn't affect your phrase streak for the vocal part at all.

I.m pretty sure you get bonus points for it, though.

hmxsean has mentioned that he can tap the base of his mike stand with his foot.

Well, there *is* is a point bonus added for your cowbell/tambourine solo, but it has no actual impact on your streak, your multiplier, etc.

In the vocals tutorial, it even says that it purposely doesn't count it so that you can play an instrument and sing at the same time, and not have to worry about the cowbell sections.

In all honesty, it is just a wee little bonus in comparison to the point total, so I really wouldn't worry about it. You're doubling the effort for a 5 percent return on your investment. You've hit the law of diminishing returns.

If tapping the mikestand with your foot doesn't work, I'd say just let 'em pass.

And maybe you shouldn't flame without purpose. You didn't even attempt to contribute to the topic. You just strait out flamed... Good game?

But i'll most definitely try stomping on the mic stand! thanks a million for the replies everyone.

Its hard to be playing those guitar solo's and hit the cowbell parts at the same time....I just ignore them while I'm playing and singing. It has no effect on the multiplier or even make the crowd mad at the vocalist, you just don't get the bonus....but someone else already said all that.....:D
