Over at the GH forums there is a FLOOD of complaints from pissed off people with faulty drums and guitars.

Oh, the sweet irony :D

There will always be problems with new video games.

That being said, the drums are epic fail. Kick pedal moves around ALLOT, and the cymbols are breaking as we speak.

Kind of figured this would happen. It wouldn't be reasonable to expect 100% of this stuff to work perfectly on launch, considering consumers are very, very rough with their toys.

Hopefully we'll see less "GHWT stuff is BETTER than RB2 stuff!!!" threads now.

Faulty drums I can understand, but faulty guitars? Drums are gonna break moer for a variety of reasons, including first-time effort. There's really no excuse for guitars though, unless the Chinese manufacturers are really bad this time around.

lmao.

42 pages of broken drum kits and guitars.

But seriously plastic guitars aren't new, why are they even broken.
i'm glad i got RB2 instead of this, and im glad i turned all of my friends off of WT. POS.

Has anyone else heard that Activision/Red Octane makes you pay for return shipping on RMAs? If it's true, HMX and EA's initial problems aren't looking so bad right now.

i actually just got a call from one of my friends in tennessee who drunkenly decided to pick the bundle up and her drums are all messed up.

she said that you have to pay $25 shipping and then they keep your equipment 2-3 weeks for "processing", which when coupled with shipping times will go over the 30 warranty...
the kicker is that it apparently doesn't reset your warranty period so if your replacement is screwed up then you're just out of luck.

as lame as the new rock band system is (the 5 day limitation after getting your replacement being my gripe with the new system), this really blows that out of the water and expecting the consumer to pay shipping is just icing on the turd-cake.

i feel pretty grateful for the luck i've had with my RB instruments now.

true, but there are many players who have flawless sets (myself included).

and i echo his sentiment...
serves them right for being incredibly vocal about the godly quality of their gear, and i will also be undoubtedly sticking to my RB2 drums.

The guitar is awesome as usual, and I have no issues with the drums. Are people wailing on the cymbals? It's like the pedal issue on the RB drums, some people are going through them every month, some have had them from the beginning with no issues.

one of my friends called me yesterday to ask me if I got my GHWT setup working. I told him no, because I wasn't buying that piece of crap game, but apparently he spent 30 minutes with his drum kit and couldn't get it a)to turn on after 20 minutes, b)to calibrate once he actually got it on, and c)to register notes properly

I'm sick of those too, but primarily because those arguements were unfounded. None of those people arguing that the GHWT instruments were better had even played them yet.

I personally had my doubts ever since E3, when I heard that apparently they were switching the cymbals out every few songs for the drum kit out on the showroom floor. If that doesn't sound questionable, I don't know what does.

I actually feel bad for the Guitar Hero fans. It sucks they can't enjoy their game as much as they hoped to. I hope they do direct some of their wrath toward that cocky jerk named Brian Bright.

OMG LMFAO!!!! This is getting better and better by the minute. I had heard of problems but had no idea they where this bad. While I will say i own GHWT and it is a decent game they SOOOOOO deserve this. Brian Bright had the whole " My **** doesnt smell" attitude about GHWTs instruments.

Needless to say i was one of the ppl that got the **** end from Nevervision:mad::mad::mad:Got the Guitar bundle and the guide button for 360 was f'ed up. I fixed it but still. At least IF your RB stuff did break it worked when you got it.

You know misinformed people will still sit there and call Rock Band peripherals trash even though their GH:WT drums/guitar failed right out of the box. Some people are so adamant that they were correct all along that they blind themselves from the truth. Pity them for their ignorance, not simply their misfortune. As for me, I know my Rock Band stuff is solid and I take comfort in that.

ouch. i assume they make you pay the shipping on the guitar RMA's too.

my new friends here in SC who play rock band with us got the GH:WT bundle and had broken gear, so they took it back to wal-mart after finding out about the need to pay shipping.
i wanted them to hold onto it long enough for me to try, but apparently far cry 2 takes precedence over my petty demands. :)

Well, it's not about whether they are broken or not...we all know EVERY peripheral launch is going to be met with some complainers, that's inevitable. No, the problem is that Brian Bright was lipping off about how superior they are, when in reality they're no better. They're plagued by the same problems the Rock Band ones were.

QFT

this is what it was all about
"superiority complex" and them trying to hide the fact that they only said they were perfect to market them as unbreakable and get people to buy them

even RB didnt do that, when it came to RB2 set, they stated they were better, not perfect, they didnt wanna have to eat their words if something went wrong(which it did, just not nearly as bad)

whats getting me is how bad the gh forums are right now with complaints about this among MANY other things in the game

they are even going as far as saying gh3 was a better game(which is hilarious)

and i did buy the game myself and i am disapointed in it even though i had 0 expectation from it. and im a vocalist!

Yeah, it's not like there weren't complaints about the RB2 drums, like crosstalk.

SL RB2 were the ones that sucked.

My EL RB2 set is near mint. No crosstalk, no dropped notes, no turning off drums with "no batteries," and my wireless mic works now too.

HMX fixed the issues; thank God.

bse523
10-28-2008, 01:43 PM
And to SL crosstalk thing had an easy fix. I had a period of a couple of days where I'd experience it for like 2 seconds in a song then go back to being normal. Playing through this a few times, and boom. Haven't had an issue in weeks.

I like the fact that there are people who fail to miss the point. Yes, there were issues with Rockband's instruments, and they got a lot of crap for it. Now it's Activision's turn, and they are getting crap for it. The biggest difference is that HMX didn't come out and say, "our stuff is better than yours."

All that crap that the folks @ GH kept saying:

- Superior drum set
- More realistic drumming experience
- Better peripherals
- Come buy ours after theirs break
- etc etc

is coming to bite them in the ass, and I'm loving it. That's what they get for talking so much smack.

Oh, and I'm SO glad we don't have to pay shipping to get our stuff fixed. :D

10-28-2008, 03:16 PM
Brian Bright nowadays: "After those Rock Band instruments you can buy ours. But ours probably won't work in the first place and you'll be stuck with them. But buy them anyway so I can keep my job!"

Amazingly enough, my GHWT drums seem to be working 100%. I haven't tested out the guitar yet, it still has the same annoying loud strumbar. My mic is fine... Brian Bright has to stop acting like he's a good developer. At best, he's a good plagiarist.
