Wireless headset?

This has probably been answered before, I apologize.
Spent around 5 minutes searching for the answer but I couldn't find it.

Question is, if I have a wireless headset, can I not talk to other people on live?
I've got the headset on, signed into the first player.
First player is the mic, cause that's what the controller is for, but other people cannot hear me.

The adapter doesn't seem to work for the wireless headset because it is designed for wired ones. Any ideas?

The singer needs to hold a trigger or shoulder button for other people to hear them online. Try that.
