If they put in David Bowie, Beatles, Rush, Bob Dylan, Dire Straits, Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, Kansas, Muse, Kaiser Chiefs, The Clash, The Talking heads, Spinal Tap, and many other bands that deserve to be in far more than some mediocre Pop Rock that is being put in on the basis that the singer is female, and that we should put it in for that reason, I could see tolerating them.
My Mom tried singing. She didn't have any problem singing male sung songs, and didn't even mention the fact that they are all male sung songs. She likes male sung songs better in general(Even though she's a woman! GASP!!!!!!!!!) Than again, my Mom is cool and has awesome taste in music. I guess most women want to sing crappy pop rock.
Unrelated to what we're discussing, but I'm surprised someone of legal age to marry types like you. A 15 year old freshman half into his first semester types better than someone in their 20s-40s (Just guessing) who has gone through High School, and College, and has a job.

That made no sense at all....

Don't listen to idiots like Gray who have no life and spend there time going into threads about bands they do not like...

How am I an idiot? I don't type like a stupid version of Koko the Gorilla.
How are you able to deduce that I have no life from an internet post? It takes me maybe 3 minutes to write a post. If you are posting on an Internet forum you have no right to tell someone they have no life.

Obviously you didn't read my post, I never said you have no life because you post on these forums, I said you had no life if your posting in threads about bands you don't seem to like at all. I don't go into Slayer threads and ***** at people because they like Slayer and I don't

But there is a difference. Slayer is a valid band. I don't like Slayer either, yet I don't insult Slayer I respect them. They have talent. I'm not a huge fan of Blues or Jazz, but I respect them. Crappy Modern rock created for the purpose of appealing to a bunch of stupid teens, and getting their money is not respectable.

Not Respectable to you, just because Paramore isn't your Cup of Tea so to speak dosen't mean they shouldn't be in the game. So Modern Rock is Crappy because a bunch of people like it? so when huge bands like the Beatles or The Who, Maybe Guns N Roses first started out they sucked because they created music that the masses enjoyed?

No, it's not the fact that it is popular, it's the fact that they create bad music just to appeal to the masses. Those bands created good music, and it was liked. It's much harder to do that than to create money making pop, which is not accessible to a lot of people who simply can't stand generic crap. Those bands were also appealing to a more intelligent crowd.

I know most of you ****** snobs like to bicker
But this isn't about singing girl vocals
Paramore makes fun music... point and case... if you don't like it.... shut up or **** off
If they decide to make paramore DLC , quite frankly you don't have to buy it.
Do you see me *****ing about the David bowie pack and complaining? NO... guess why? CAUSE I DON'T HAVE TO BUY IT
RB has and is going to continue having a huge ammount of DLC ... it won't ****ing hurt you if they release something you don't like once in a while
Stfu please kthxbye

HMX should put up a some stats of which DLC is most purchased. Lets say if Paramore and Slayer were put up the same day, i wonder which one would make the most money.
I bet my $ on Paramore and imagine if it costed more.

There are a few reasons behind my complaints
1. I am bitter because crappy music is popular
2. I enjoy arguing, and/or insulting terrible music.
3. I hate idiots.
It will hurt me. Instead of making DLC for some of the bands that I like that are not hugely popular, they'll make it for this crap instead. Plus it is another painful reminder that a huge portion of music fans listen to crap. They either listen to crappy rap, or crappy rock.
Nothing is fun about boring, generic, badly written crap like Fall Out Boy or Paramore.
You don't insult David Bowie because he was amazing, and you simply could not come up with a decent insult. He is one of the most amazing musicians of the 20th century. Compared to me insulting the crappy band of the week voted best by idiots around the United States, he is much harder to criticize.
HMX should put up a some stats of which DLC is most purchased. Lets say if Paramore and Slayer were put up the same day, i wonder which one would make the most money.

But what if it was a Beatles pack, maybe an R.E.M. pack, a David Bowie Pack? I'm sure those would sell more than Paramore. These people, who had hits years before now would sell more than modern bands.

Paramore would be awesome.
Id say... All We Know, Pressure, Emergency, My Heart, Misery Business, CrushCrushCrush, and Born For This would all make great songs to play.
Paramore has really fun upbeat songs. If you dont want it; dont buy it; simple as that.

Just out of sheer curiousity, what exactly constitutes this pandering and overall boringness? Is it lyrics that people enjoy, or a certain riff at certain speed, or the structure of the song?
Quite honestly, Slayer just play loud and fast and scream, but since they don't try to make it big doing this (possibly because they can't doing so) and simultaneously bash the mainstream for this; they are considering a band that bucks the mainstream, while it's more than likely the mainstream is bucking them.
David Bowie, on the other hand, created an album or two of good music. Then he got two weird for the mainstream, and it seems had a little fling with Mick Jagger, but since he had made some good albums. no one seemed to care. but other than Labyrinth; what has David Bowie done that's worth mention in the past 20 years?
Because you don't like some music, doesn't mean it doesn't belong. I don't like slayer, and i'm not a big bowie fan; but they belong. I'd love to see the beatles, and i'm looking forward to Who's Next as the first full album. But i'd also like to see fall out boy and paramore, and as EVERYONE has pointed out, if you don't feel that way, don't download it. and it you want to just troll and pretend you know music, gamefaqs message boards can be found at www.gamefaqs.com... you'll fit in perfect there :)

The thing about Paramore that sets them above most in their genre is that Hayley really can sing the way she does on the CD. The band doesn't really have a lot of technical skill, but you don't really need it in order to play that style of music. Are they the best band ever? Nope, but I think they definitely deserve to be in the game because quite a few of their songs would be great fun to play.

I was going to post my own thread about Paramore but I see someone already did and a few of you out there have the same idea as me. I love the band and I love the female vocals. There are certainly not enough tracks for a female to sing and that's the only thing that disappointed me about this game.

Then don't buy the DLC. There are people who will despise any band that is decided on, be it even Slayer or the Beatles or whoever. I for one aren't really a fan of the Beatles, but there are many many fans of them, and so the DLC would be for them. This same case applies to any other band they decide to put in. There are fans of Paramore, myself included, who would love to have some of their songs in Rock Band. It might not appeal to every single Rock Band player, but there are people who it definitely would.

I would buy a few paramore songs because it would be fun. people would recognize the songs and it would be fun for them. Really the more hits they get in the game the better.

Hating something because it's popular is great rationality for disliking something. You should stop living because I hear it's very popular.

Same here. I'm up for any new DLC even if it's music that I'm not really interested in. I'm always up for trying new songs and even if it's more mainstream stuff that's better because when I have friends over it will be easier for them to get into it when they've actually heard a few of the songs before.

I wasn't saying that you dolt. I was saying that most popular stuff today happens to suck a great deal. Many bands I like were popular, and two are bands that are popular today. You're just another idiot who likes idiot music and makes idiot arguments which involve misinterpreting what smart people say.
If you guys want female vocals so bad, why not GOOD female vocals. Siouxsie & the Banshees. I usually don't like female vocals, but she is amazing. And she's not from the 60s or 70s or played on stations with the Classic Rock/Album Oriented Rock format, which appeals to the "omg clasic rok is g@y fob roks" crowd.
She has much more talent than Paramore, and other assorted hacks that make "music".
