It's a good album, but honestly, I think a lot more album's would be looked at (and would be preferred by the most). If they simply add another Dream Theater song (Pull Me Under, Pull Me Under, Pull Me Under), I'll be happy, but I'm definitely not holding my breath for an album. Keep the faith though :D.

There's 2 slow songs, 5 heavy songs that sound pretty much the same, and the only song on the album we really should get is the title track


This definitely is NOT the best Dream Theater album for the game..

Images and Words, Metropolis Pt. 2, Systematic Chaos, Awake > everything else. I'm sure people will disagree, but that's where I stand.

I honestly wouldn't mind seeing 'When Dream And Day Unite' as full-album DLC. Just as a homage to Chris Collins.

However, I'd also love Images & Words. I love Octavarium to death, but Images & Words is simply better in terms of musicianship.

Hmmm. I would definatly buy anything Dream Theater that Rock Band hands to us. I would definatly buy this but I would say that they're live album Score would be my personal favorite to play. I was expecting to see a song or two from they're new album Black Clouds and Silver Linings since it came out on June 23 but I guess not.

Even though Octavarium is a good album, I thought Scenes From A Memory was better. But they should consider adding some more Dream Theater songs

Its an amazing song, and it would be VERY challenging. It could be used as a trophy achievement and it would be one of those songs with maxed out difficulty all instruments. (in my opinion.) if they made that song the game would also get publicity from having the longest song in a video game.

BLACK CLOUDS NEEDS TO BE ON ROCK BAND...... its just that good. that and disc one of six degrees, the one having nothing to do with the 12 part suite. i would love the complete 12 part suite on rock band though. both the 6 degrees AND the black clouds ending to it "the shattered fortress." and really, "Octavarium" the song, that would be a AMAZING, like........idk, nothing compares. and the whole album (minus "Panic Attack" of course) would be even better. playing songs like "Sacrificed Sons" would be amazing. however...."the answer lies within" would not be to good, for guitar at least. well no, everything but vocals would be a bore. but still, WE NEED MORE DREAM THEATER.

I really like their newer stuff just because its more heavier. Just a personal choice. Therefore, I'd actually rather see any songs off of Systematic Chaos,Octavarium, and even Black Clouds and Silver Lining.

If I needed to pick an older album I would like to see, it would be Train of Thought or Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence.

Still, I am not picky. Dream Theater DLC of any sort = is amazing DLC.

This is a great album. I totally agree with putting this in. Not only for the title song, but that too. Octavarium (the song) would be epic to play. I've wanted it on the game for a while. Also, if they did this, they could add Keys to Panic Attack, allowing for mass epicness. In fact, I believe every song on this album could use every instrument in Rock Band 3.

I doubt Harmonix will do this though. Charting Octavarium (the song) for every instrument and every Pro instrument woud take ages. But it would be well worth it.

I can still just imagine how many failed attempts there will be to get 100% on Octavarium on Expert , Bass, Keys, Drums, and Vocals (maybe harmonies too) all at once. That would be deserving of an achievement or trophy.

Not really, Octavarium is only really popular on these forums (obviously because of Panic Attack in RB2, that was a lot of RB fans' gateway into Dream Theater).

Everywhere else, I find that the majority of DT fans have Octavarium at the bottom of their discography or very close to it. Mostly Images And Words, Awake, and Scenes From A Memory top most peoples' lists. Only really RB fans have a love affair with Octavarium.
