We need a patch to fix this issue asap!
You guys touted your game as compatible with other instruments, so fulfill your end of the deal.
Right now RB2 sees the GHWT drum set as a microphone. This stinks!

I totally agree! I am having the same problem, and if this does not get fixed and the store will not take back my opened copy of Rockband 2(game disc) and Guitar Hero:WT kit, I am going to be mighty pissed and I will be knocking at EA's door for $250 odd dollars.
Here is what it is doing for me.

Here's the good news: It's very very likely this can be fixed. See, here's something to compare it to... Early this past week, I tried using a PS2-PS3 controller adapter to try and use the old GH1 controller on RB2. Much like the current issue with the WT drums, the GH1 controller COULD navigate the menus, but it would only register as a mic. I came to find out that there's a special adapter you can buy (people call it the TAC adapter) that fixes that and makes the GH1 controller usable in RB/ RB2. My point? Well, if that can be fixed with a simple change in adapter, there's no reason this can't be fixed some how as well.
The bad news, though: Who knows when, or even IF, they actually will patch it? I'll be extremely disappointed if this isn't patched, because I bought the WT band kit under the impression that the peripherals would all work with RB2, because of what was stated by Sony. I do NOT want to buy another drum set, spending another $90 on top of the $250~ I've already spent buying the two games.
But, here's another thought I just had... If a simple adapter can make the GH1 register in RB/ RB2, who's to say some third party company won't come along and make their own "adapter" that will connect the WT drums to RB2? I'm almost positive this whole issue is because of the "dongle" that's necessary to detect the instruments on the PS3. The 360 doesn't have this problem with the WT drums, and they don't use a "dongle". So, that's gotta be the problem here. Either the dongle needs to be fixed, or a patch needs to be made for RB2 to read it properly.

Well both of my copy of RB2 is still sealed and you can bet it goes back to the store if this is not fixed asap.

Amen brother, same thing happened to me too. It sucks. The only thing that works are the guitars and the microphones I believe, even though I haven't tried the microphone for RB2.

These companies are starting to act like Microsoft - they use the end consumer as the guinea pig. Haven't they ever heard of beta testers?

Why would the drums work - why would you even want to use a set from GH4 on RB2 they dont even have the same amount of pads - the guitars and the mics i can see you wanting to use maybe I would not (mainly cause GH WT is terrible) but then again RB2 has issues too but the drums - common sense tells you they were not going to work right outta the box on RB2 cause they have 3 pads 2 cymbals and a bass pedal RB2 has 4 PADS even if u get the cymbals it still boils down to 4 PADS and 1 BASS.....

Um, gee, I don't know. Maybe for these reasons?
1- So I don't have to spend money on 2 drum sets.
2- Cause the director of Sony stated GHWT drum kits and guitars would work with RB2 software and vice versa (he stated this on August 18th).
3- Cause GHWT coded their software to properly recognize RB2 drum kits and adjust the number of notes available to accomodate.
Again, I will say it. This is a Harmonix screw up. Not that Harmonix cares, but they are the ones who caused this issue, so they are the ones that should fix it.

Has anyone got the SG controller to work with RB2 using the TAC adapter? The controller navigates the XMB menus, but doesn't work at all inside RB2. It works (almost) perfectly in RB1.

I think this is so f-ing stupid! I'm taking RB2 back as well and I guess the real thing is to play GHWT since RB can't get it right.
