Not the same charts. Example from Guitar Hero 3 vs Rock Band 1. Iron Maiden: Number of the Beast or Run to the Hills.
So here we go!
Beastie Boys: Guitar Hero 4:No Sleep Till Brooklyn Rock Band 2: So whatcha want?
Billy Idol: Guitar Hero 4: Rebel Yell Rock Band 2: White Wedding (part 1)
Dream Theater: Guitar Hero 4: Pull Me Under Rock Band 2: Panic Attack
Interpol: Guitar Hero 4: Obstacle 1 Rock band 2: PDA
Linkin Park: Guitar Hero 4: What I've Done Rock Band 2: One Step Closer
Metallica: Guitar Hero 4: Trapped Under Ice. Rock Band 2: Battery

Steely Dan: Guitar Hero 4: Do It Again Rock Band 2: Bodhistthva (I cant spell that sorry :()
Steve Miller Band: Guitar Hero 4: The Joker Rock Band 2: Rock'n Me
System of a Down Guitar Hero 4: B.Y.O.B Rock Band 2: Chop Suey. (Only doing on disc songs, I know we have B.Y.O.B as DLC)
and My votes
I liked everything better in Rock Band 2 better except for Trapped Under Ice.

There are only three artists/songs that make a difference to me from that list:
Dream Theater: Guitar Hero 4: Pull Me Under Rock Band 2: Panic Attack
Metallica: Guitar Hero 4: Trapped Under Ice. Rock Band 2: Battery
Nirvana: Guitar Hero 4: About a Girl (unplugged) Rock Band 2: Drain you
In these three cases, RB2 wins, and wins hard. Now, I would buy Pull Me Under and Trapped Under Ice as DLC. But in terms of on-disc songs, I am more satisfied with songs from Nevermind, Master of Puppets, and Octavarium.
Yeah, that's right, I'm a Dream Theater fan that actually prefers Octavarium and Systematic Chaos to Images and Words, and I'm not afraid to admit it.

GHWT has the better pick with Beastie Boys, Linkin Park, Paramore, Steve Miller Band, and Steely Dan. Dream Theater, Interpol, I could care less about. System of a Down is a push since BYOB is already DLC on RB2. All the rest are RB2. And although the new Rise Against song kicks ass, it doesn't beat Give It All.

My votes.
Linkin Park I'd prefer none though obviously.
System Of A Down is also meh though because both those songs kind of are meh for plastic instruments imo. Needz moar Forest, Deer Dance, Sugar, or Aerials \o/

Beastie Boys: Guitar Hero 4:No Sleep Till Brooklyn
Billy Idol: Rock Band 2: White Wedding (part 1)
Dream Theater: Guitar Hero 4: Pull Me Under Rock Band 2: Panic Attack - Abstain, don't know either, haven't played either yet
Interpol: Guitar Hero 4: Obstacle 1 Rock band 2: PDA - Abstain, it's Interpol, chances are both suck (and I don't like PDA)
Linkin Park: Rock Band 2: One Step Closer
Metallica: Rock Band 2: Battery
Motorhead: Rock Band 2: Ace of Spades
Nirvana: Rock Band 2: Drain you
Paramore: Guitar Hero 4: Misery Business
Rise Against: Rock Band 2: Give it All
Steely Dan: Rock Band 2: Bodhisattva
Steve Miller Band: Rock Band 2: Rock'n Me
System of a Down Guitar Hero 4: B.Y.O.B Rock Band 2: Chop Suey. - Irrelevant, we already have BYOB as DLC.
So GH:WT wins with...Beastie Boys, and Paramore. *Slow clap*

Billy Idol: Rock Band 2: White Wedding (part 1)

Paramore: TOSS UP
Rise Against: Rock Band 2: Give it All
Steve Miller Band: Guitar Hero 4: The Joker

Beastie Boys: Guitar Hero 4:No Sleep Till Brooklyn Rock Band 2: So whatcha want?
Okay - I don't know the song 'no sleep til brooklyn' at all, but So Whatcha Want is hands down the most boring song in Rock Band 2. I'll give the nod to World Tour.
Billy Idol: Guitar Hero 4: Rebel Yell Rock Band 2: White Wedding (part 1)
Both are great songs and I refuse to pick a favorite. Tie.
Dream Theater: Guitar Hero 4: Pull Me Under Rock Band 2: Panic Attack
I prefer Panic Attack, but Pull Me Under is still an awesome song.
Interpol: Guitar Hero 4: Obstacle 1 Rock band 2: PDA
I like PDA better.
Linkin Park: Guitar Hero 4: What I've Done Rock Band 2: One Step Closer
I'm not a huge linkin park fan, but I like One Step Closer better.
Metallica: Guitar Hero 4: Trapped Under Ice. Rock Band 2: Battery
I don't think I've ever heard Trapped Under Ice... because it's nu metallica. Battery is a classic, though.
Motorhead: Guitar Hero 4: Overkill Rock Band 2: Ace of Spades
Ace of Spades is THE Motorhead song. Everything else is just extraneous.
Nirvana: Guitar Hero 4: About a Girl (unplugged) Rock Band 2: Drain you
There's something about a song that's completely overplayed on the radio that makes me...want to stab my ears with an ice pick. Drain You is awesome.
Paramore: Guitar Hero 4: Misery Business Rock Band 2: Thats What you get.
Pass because I've never heard Misery Business.
Rise Against: Guitar Hero 4: Re-education Through Labor Rock Band 2: Give it All
Pass again - not a fan of this band.
Steely Dan: Guitar Hero 4: Do It Again Rock Band 2: Bodhistthva (I cant spell that sorry :()
Bodhitsattva is such an awesome song - I never knew I liked Steely Dan before.
Steve Miller Band: Guitar Hero 4: The Joker Rock Band 2: Rock'n Me
The Joker. Easy.
System of a Down Guitar Hero 4: B.Y.O.B Rock Band 2: Chop Suey.
BYOB - I like it a lot more than Chop Suey.
So that's... 3 to 6 I believe in favor of Rock Band. I do reserve the right to change my votes at any time.

Beastie Boys- No Sleep- it's one of a FEW songs i like by them, and So Whatcha Want is boring as hell on guitar and bass- which is half of the game.
Billy Idol- they are both awesome- too awesome, until i play Rebel Yell, i can't decide.
Dream Theater- Panic Attack. I like Pull, but PA just wins
Interpol- haven't played Obstacle 01, but from listening to it it sounds like parts of the song are boring as hell on each instrument. and i LOVE PDA, so PDA
Linkin Park- One Step Closer is a better SONG, but i think What I've Done would be more fun to PLAY. Can't render a verdict until i play both though
Metallica- not a huge fan, but Battery is the essential 'man song' that gets you pumped no matter what- I wouldn't trade it for anything
Motorhead- Ace of Spades '08- Abri-ca-DUH
Nirvana- Drain You- its one of the more fun to play Nirvana songs
Paramore- That's What you Get, it just kind of wins
Rise Against- Give It All. back in the day when I could only have 7 songs on my PSP (dark times) this song was right up there with Favor House Atlantic. Re-Education is great, but nowhere as insane as Give It All
Steely Dan- Badhisattva- Fun, quirky song. don't know the other one, but i love this one for what it is
System of a Down- Chop Suey- the song is haunting and amazing. I also have BYOB, but Chop Suey kicks it in the tar because it is a MUCH, MUCH better song

Playing Expert Drums
Guitar Hero 4:No Sleep Till Brooklyn
Guitar Hero 4: Rebel Yell
Dream Theater: I haven't had a chance to play pull me under yet so I'm not sure
Interpol I don't really like either so =
Guitar Hero 4 One Step Closer
Rock Band 2: Battery
Rock Band 2: Ace of Spades
Guitar Hero 4: About a Girl (unplugged)
Rock Band 2: Thats What you get.
Rise Against: Both are very good. I'd give it an =
Guitar Hero 4: Do It Again
Rock Band 2: Rock'n Me
Rock Band 2: Chop Suey. Probably the best drum song in the game besides The Trees.

Rating how much fun I have playing them on X drums:
Beastie Boys: Guitar Hero 4:No Sleep Till Brooklyn Rock Band 2: So whatcha want?
Billy Idol: Guitar Hero 4: Rebel Yell Rock Band 2: White Wedding (part 1) - both OK, no preference
Dream Theater: Guitar Hero 4: Pull Me Under Rock Band 2: Panic Attack - both impossible, no preference
Interpol: Guitar Hero 4: Obstacle Rock band 2: PDA - both eh, no preference
Linkin Park: Guitar Hero 4: What I've Done Rock Band 2: One Step Closer
Metallica: Guitar Hero 4: Trapped Under Ice. Rock Band 2: Battery
Motorhead: Guitar Hero 4: Overkill Rock Band 2: Ace of Spades - abstain due to not having played overkill
Nirvana: Guitar Hero 4: About a Girl (unplugged) Rock Band 2: Drain you
Paramore: Guitar Hero 4: Misery Business Rock Band 2: Thats What you get.
Rise Against: Guitar Hero 4: Re-education Through Labor Rock Band 2: Give it All
Steely Dan: Guitar Hero 4: Do It Again Rock Band 2: Bodhistthva (I cant spell that sorry :()
Steve Miller Band: Guitar Hero 4: The Joker Rock Band 2: Rock'n Me
System of a Down Guitar Hero 4: B.Y.O.B Rock Band 2: Chop Suey. (Only doing on disc songs, I know we have B.Y.O.B as DLC)
Slight edge to GH, but only in the small category of artists shared between games but with different songs. Overall, I enjoy the track list for RB2 slightly more. And that, of course, is limited to on-disc songs.
Rock_Starman

Beastie Boys: Both were terrible choices (Fight for Your Right anyone?) but I like No Sleep 'till Brooklyn better as there's actually stuff to play on more than vocals. GH 1 RB 0
Billy Idol: This one is a wash. I like them both equally so it won't be counted towards the total and declared a draw.
Dream Theater: I dislike them both equally (technical wankery says I!) but GH went with the apprent one hit they had and I'm so sick of playing Panic Attack, only have to play Pull Me Under once so this narrowly goes to GH. Under A Glass Moon is all I want from them. GH 2 RB 0
Interpol: PDA is one of the most boring songs to ever be in one of these games, like I said in the review topic good thing you've got all those couches because it puts people to sleep. Obstacle 1 is also the most boring song I've played in GHWT so far however it's not as boring as PDA so this goes to GH too. GH 3 RB 0
Linkin Park: This one ends up a tie too but in an odd way. The only LP songs I liked were One Step Closer and In the End. One Step Closer wasn't very fun in RB despite liking the song and even though I don't like What I've Done it was funner to play. Still GH 3 RB 0.
Metallica: Again I dislike them both equally but I'm sick of Battery and at least GH has an excuse to save the good stuff. GH 4 RB 0
Motorhead: I'm going to have to call this one a draw too. We've already had Ace of Spades and the re-record sucks but it is their biggest song. Overkill hasn't been used but Overkill? GH 4 RB 0
Nirvana: About A Girl easily and by far. RB continued the trend with the lesser known stuff by releasing everything but the big 3 off Nevermind so should get a negative point but it doesn't have any at the moment so that's not doable since we're not getting into negative numbers. GH 5 RB 0
Paramore: Wasn't a Paramore fan before either game but I love both songs. They're great fun so another tie. GH 5 RB 0
Rise Against: I haven't played the GH song so I guess I should play that first. RB finally scores. I don't really like either but I like Give it All better,it's more engertic. GH 5 RB 1
Steely Dan: I hate bothditawhateverthe****sa and I thought the only song of theirs I knew was Reelin' in the Years but I actually knew Do It Again and I can spell it. Don't really like it but I'll take it over the RB 2 song. GH 6 RB 1
Steve Miller Band: Easiest pick here,The Joker. Been asking for that for a long time and was very dissapointed to see Rock 'n Me instead of that or even Fly Like An Eagle or Take the Money and Run. GH 7 RB 1
System of a Down: BYOB is terrible in GH and Chop Suey is pretty fun so this one goes to RB.
Final score
GH 7
RB 2
Tie 4
Wich makes the overall winner GH because even if the ties were given to RB it still wouldn't win.

Yeah, that's right, I'm a Dream Theater fan that actually prefers Octavarium and Systematic Chaos to Images and Words, and I'm not afraid to admit it.
I actually agree that Octavarium is better than Images and Words, though I prefer Images and Words over Systematic Chaos. Not even taking into account the albums, RB wins this one simply based on song choice. There is not a WORSE choice for a Dream Theater song than "Pull Me Under." Its a song even Dream Theater thinks of as nothing special.
Beastie Boys: I really don't care about Beastie Boys, but No Sleep Til Brooklyn is so unbelievably boring on anything except drums and vocals, so....
Billy Idol: I don't care for Billy Idol, both chose songs that I find equally listenable.
Dream Theater: Panic Attack, see above.
Linkin Park: I don't want to listen to ANY of their crap.
Metallica: Honestly, I'm not a big Metallica fan.
Motorhead: Ace of Spades wins here, mostly because I'm more familiar with it.
Nirvana: Like Linkin Park, I don't want to listen to any of Nirvana's crap.
Paramore: See Linkin Park and Nirvana.
Rise Against: I'm not very familiar with Rise Against.
Steely Dan: Nor am I very familiar with Steely Dan.
Steve Miller Band: Also not very familiar with Steve Miller.
System of a Down: I have to say that I prefer BYOB, but considering that BYOB is technically on both....

IMO Rock N'Me is MUCH better on EVERY Instrument, and Is a better song.
More known, more popular, more requested...even if people do refer to it as "Space Cowboy" or "Midnight Toker" instead. I didn't even think I heard Rock 'n Me untill I listened to it and even then I didn't know it was Steve Miller.
IMO it's 10000000x better on bass, not even close there. In fact I think it's one of the most fun bass songs in any of these games. Better but quite a bit on vocals too ( I actually know the words!) and slightly better on guitar. Can't play GHWT drums so I dunno about that.

Beastie Boys: Guitar Hero 4:No Sleep Till Brooklyn Rock Band 2: So whatcha want? - I love the Beasties but So whatcha want is one of the worst songs for guitar and drums...my 2 instruments
Billy Idol: Guitar Hero 4: Rebel Yell Rock Band 2: White Wedding (part 1) - TIE I love em both
Dream Theater: Guitar Hero 4: Pull Me Under Rock Band 2: Panic Attack To be honest Pull Me Under is booring compared to Panic Attack
Interpol: Guitar Hero 4: Obstacle 1 Rock band 2: PDA - both songs suck...another tie
Linkin Park: Guitar Hero 4: What I've Done Rock Band 2: One Step Closer - Both are equally fun to play but I like One Step musically better
Metallica: Guitar Hero 4: Trapped Under Ice. Rock Band 2: Battery - Tough Call but Trapped under ice is one of my favs, though battery is more mainstream
Motorhead: Guitar Hero 4: Overkill Rock Band 2: Ace of Spades - Ace of Spades by just a hair...really close on this one

"Some people call me the space cowboy"

I have not played Guitar Hero: World Tour yet, so I can't decide which "charts" out of the two songs would be more fun. So I'm picking them on a music stand-point.
Beastie Boys: No Sleep Till Brooklyn (GHWT) vs. So What'cha Want (RB2)?
"No Sleep Till Brooklyn" wins this one by far. "So What'cha Want" is one of the most boring songs the Beastie Boys have done, at least "NSTB" has Kerry King playing guitar on it.
Billy Idol: Rebel Yell (GHWT) vs. White Wedding (Part 1) (RB2)
This one is really tough, but I think I'd have to give the slight-edge (by a hair) to "Rebel Yell" just because the guitar solo in the song is pretty wicked.
Dream Theater: Pull Me Under (GHWT) vs. Panic Attack (RB2)
"Panic Attack" wins this one hands down. I think "Pull Me Under" is one of the more boring Dream Theater songs and "Panic Attack"'s ending, the build up into that weird crazy tremolo noise going between the speakers is awesome.
Interpol: Obstacle 1 (GHWT) vs. PDA (RB2)
I just really like "Obstacle 1" more than "PDA".
Linkin Park: What I've Done (GHWT) vs. One Step Closer (RB2)
When I first heard "What I've Done", I thought it was very meh. I remember hearing "One Step Closer" back when I was in high school and it made me wanna punch someone in their face, so that one wins.
Metallica: Trapped Under Ice (GHWT) vs. Battery (RB2)
'Ride The Lightning' and 'Master Of Puppets' are my favorite Metallica albums, but I like "Battery" much more than "Trapped Under Ice". Now had GHWT gotten "Fade To Black" or "Creeping Death", this would have been a different story.
Motorhead: Overkill (GHWT) vs. Ace Of Spades (RB2)
I have never really cared for Motorhead, at all, but I have always liked "Ace Of Spades" for some reason.
Nirvana: About A Girl (Unplugged) (GHWT) vs. Drain You (RB2)
I enjoy Nirvana, but I don't think the Unplugged version of any song belongs in GH or RB (unless it's "The Man Who Sold The World"), so this one goes to "Drain You" (me and my band back in high school used to cover this song too, so it gets bonus points).
Paramore: Misery Business (GHWT) vs. Thats What You Get (RB2)
I find "That's What You Get" to be very meh, but with "Misery Business", kinda makes you wanna dance.
Rise Against: Re-Education (Through Labor) (GHWT) vs. Give It All (RB2)
I've been getting more into Rise Against lately mainly due to the Guitar Hero/Rock Band games and they are really good, but I like "Give It All" a little more than "Re-Education (Through Labor)".
Steely Dan: Do It Again (GHWT) vs. Bodhisattva (RB2)
I'm not really familiar with Steely Dan's work, but after listening to the two tracks, I think "Do It Again" wins this one.
Steve Miller Band: The Joker (GHWT) vs. Rock'n Me (GHWT)
I'm sorry, but "The Joker" is totally classic. I was actually a little upset that the song was in GHWT and not RB2...but hopefully we'll see it as DLC someday.
System of a Down: B.Y.O.B (GHWT) vs. Chop Suey (RB2)
"Chop Suey" was totally epic back in the day, and a friend of mine even cut their last class of school to go get the "Toxicity" album. The first two System albums were awesome, so "Chop Suey" wins.
So it comes down to...
GHWT: 6
RB2: 7
I think they've done a fair job of picking quality songs this time around. But like I said, I haven't played GHWT yet, so I did not base these songs on how fun their "charts" may be, but rather just by the songs themselves.

Beastie Boys: Guitar Hero 4:No Sleep Till Brooklyn
i do enjoy "so whatcha' want" much more than the majority, but this is my most wanted beastie boys song.
Billy Idol: Rock Band 2: White Wedding (part 1)
very close on this one. both are awesome songs.
Dream Theater: Rock Band 2: Panic Attack
i'm not a fan, but this is the lesser of two evils.
Interpol: Rock band 2: PDA
this one of the only interpol songs i care for, though the one GH:WT picked isn't bad.
Linkin Park: Guitar Hero 4: What I've Done Rock Band 2: One Step Closer
i'm afraid i hate both equally.
Metallica: Rock Band 2: Battery
one of my favorite metallica songs VS one of the weakest early metallica songs... easy.
Motorhead: Rock Band 2: Ace of Spades
pretty much any motorhead is good, but this is my personal favorite between the two.
Nirvana: Rock Band 2: Drain you
another case of one of my favorites from the band VS one of my least favorites.
Paramore: Rock Band 2: Thats What you get.
i hate this band, but this is their one song that i can tolerate.
Rise Against: Guitar Hero 4: Re-education Through Labor Rock Band 2: Give it All
another tie because i can't get into any of their stuff.
Steely Dan: Rock Band 2: Bodhistthva
i don't play guitar often, but the solo is indeed gold.
Steve Miller Band: Rock Band 2: Rock'n Me
i don't care for steve miller, but this song's not bad and practically anything beats "the joker" for me.
System of a Down Guitar Hero 4: B.Y.O.B Rock Band 2: Chop Suey.
i hate this band, but i've found "chop suey" fun chart-wise. since i'm going on songs (i haven't played GH:WT) i have to call this a tie.
