problem is they won't actually show up in the game.
If anyone here has happened to of experienced or at least knows the solution to this problem please send a post

where are you looking? in quickplay (and in making setlists in tour mode rb2 and in band world tour rb1) they are listed with an arrow icon next to their name
in rb1 solo mode they are listed in the tokyo playlist

Hi,
I've got the same problem;
I couldn't wait the 6 month gap from US to UK release!, so I bought the whole Instrument set + game from 365 Games - who had many dozens of the sets and state they only sell either PAL or Region Free games.
Of course, you couldn't buy anything from the US store - I tried! - unless you have a card registered in the US itself, so I waited until the UK store started to have available downloads.
Some track were downloaded duly bought & installed, but none appeared on the track listing, plus I have the identical thing going on in the Music Store - all the tracks say they are 'Purchased', but none can be downloaded.
I phoned EA & got through to the Rockband support line - they said it was a download issue and therefore a Sony issue.
There doesnt seem to be a way to contact Sony support via Email or on the Webpage about this problem - is it a game patch that is needed or something!?!
Someone from EA/Harmonix/Sony help!!
Matt

yeah just to confirm. i have USA disc for RB1 so i brought my content from the USA Store (you can use something like WWWcard or entropay as a USA compatible card)
Buying content for the UK version of rock band will only work with the UK disc. id advise you to purchase a UK disc or sort out a entropay or WWWcard account and use that for content from now on.
also any content that you purchased for UK copy of RB1 will only be carried over to UK copy of RB2. same as USA copys of RB1 and RB2. also im pretty certain that you can only export UK disc tracks and USA disc tracks to the respective versions of RB2.
this is the reason im importing RB2 for my content from discs and DLC cos ive bought enough.

Regarding 'discs aren't region free',
I didn;t think U.S. disks would work on a U.K. PS3 as mine is?
Just reading through some other threads though, it looks like this problem is happening to others - issues with the in-game Music Store et al, not sure if all are using region free, or U.S imports versions tho!
I'll probably try & get a UK disk & see it is miraculously solves itself!

"Discs" are region free. US RB or RB2 will play fine on any PS3 from around the world.
"dlcs" (download contents) are not region free. Unless your dlc matches the region of your disc the songs will not show up in RB or RB2!
PSN network cards are available for the US PSN store on ebay at ok prices for a way to purchase from the US store if you don't have a US credit card but have a US copy of RB or RB2.
