LBP2 already? This is one of those games that I think they would do great by Media Molecule creating another 5-10 story mode levels (with 3-sub-levels each) and selling them on the PSN for $5.99 or something. Make this into a platform, like some other amazing game has had success doing.

It was great thanks! I was alternating my play time bettween LBP and RB2 it was a bitter choice...haha!

And just as a heads up, I'm pretty sure you could go through the whole story mode in about 6 to 8 hours, maybe less depending on your skills, but let me tell you some of the later levels are damn hard!! I'm still working on getting 100% of all the goodies that is also easier said than done. Have fun Wolfee!!

@LZ, I see me play LBP much more than any other game for the next lifetime or so lol. I'm getting better at it, my son kinda slows me down on the story mode so I see me taking a lot longer the 8-10 hours to finish it lol, but it's all good. Plus I still need to go through the tutorial.....lol

The LittleBigPlanet servers are now up and running, however there may be some ongoing configuration work that needs to be carried out in order to keep the sharing side of the game running smoothly. There may be some limited interruptions to the service as a result of this, but we do not believe any outages will be longer than 10 minutes, and this should only be an issue for the first few days at the most.



Of course, no changes may be needed at all, in which case please disregard the above, however I'd sooner mention the possibility of this happening in advance than it take you by surprise.

It's up... but it's sllllllloooooooooooooow.

In fact, it crashed my PS3 during design mode twice. There's a constant connection to the network, it seems, so at times it stops and refreshes friends' scores, etc.

I wasn't able to post my levels without an error, but I bet it has a lot to do with servers being pounded with new designs.

Yeah, I couldn't play any levels online. I got through 1 story level with a friend (whom we never have any connection problems), but when we went to do a 2nd level, I made the mistake of saying "Play Online" instead of "Play on our own", so it crashed.

I gave up after an hour of disconnects and screen freezes. Hopefully it will be better tonight.

Are any other ppl having this problem? I cannot connect. Now I know the game is new and I hear the servers are slow or overloaded but I don't know if it's that or my connection. Because at my apartment we have really crappy, slow "high speed" internet.

So I was just wondering if I was the only one constantly having difficulties because of my internet connection here or if hardly anyone can connect right now because of the game being new.

Yeah, I initially had that problem, but once I got to my pod I went over to the Friends menu, it prompted me to connect and it actually loaded. Of course then my screen froze and it took me 10 minutes to navigate back to the main moon, but I did get online!

Hell I couldn't even connect ONCE!! I constantly got the error BayouBengal had.

I desperatly need to play co-op there is a part in the story mode where you abosolutly need 4 players and I only have 3 controllers at home, maybe I can get a couple of my nephews ( they have PS3s) to come over to play on the weekend with me and my son.

Don't take this the wrong way but I'm glad you are having the same problems as me. I'm not glad you can't connect, I'm just glad I'm not the only one. I guess it's just because of the game being new.

Well since we are all in the little LittleBigPlanet thread on the RB boards, once I (and apparantly LZ and others) get the connection issue fixed, if anyone wants to play LPB with me just shoot me a friend request. I'm confident that everything will be running smoothly be no later than tomorrow. Things worked pretty well in the Beta. I'm guessing it was just the sheer shock to the system of having everyone try to get online at the same time.

I have the same error also, I never even got on once like LZ lol. But they know there is a problem with the servers and are working on them so I'm not to worried about it yet. I still have the story line to go though :)

I realize that the game is new and that everybody was trying to log on at once and publish their levels and whatnot. But Sony and MM should have anticipated this, I mean they have been promoting and hyping this game for well over a year now, the Beta was a big hit and now they are saying they where not prepared??

It's like promoting a HUGE rock concert pre-selling thousands of tickets and then just having 500 seats available the very day of the event.... ahhhh!! well I'm ranting now so I'll stop.

I'm a patient man and like Sweet_T said I'm sure everything will be up and running smoothly very soon.

Has anyone tried using the Eye to take a photo of something and import it into the game? Just curious how well that works and how good it looks...

After the recall, my pre-order was canceled altogether (this is good policy, IMO) so I'm back to having a choice about whether or not to get LBP. I'm sure everyone in this thread will strongly recommend getting it, but I'm a little bothered by what they might find "potentially offensive" in the future.

Also, it's kind of vague what might be considered a 'copyrighted' image. For example, if you took a photo of a poster of some celebrity and pasted it in the background of your level, would that get flagged? And if something gets flagged, do you have the option of editing it or do they just remove your level completely? Not really expecting actual answers but does anyone else wonder about this?

Hope you all get on the server soon... don't you only have like a week to get the spacesuit thing?

I did try the PS eye, I took a picture of me and my kid it looked ok imo, I'm sure you could get a pretty good pic with the proper lighting and everything.

And I have thought about what type of pics other users might post, but that's a risk we will have to take, hopefully they will censor quickly anything that's not appropriate if you know what I mean, at least for my son's sake. As for copyright material you wouldn't be infringing in copyright laws if you are only sharing things as oppose to making a profit out of it right? uggghh!! suddenly Napster came to mind....:p

I just got it yesterday and haven't had much time to play around with it. It's amazing how flexible it is...even though I don't have anything to flex just yet. I'm still going through The Garden, trying to see just how much I can pick up before I get some of the more "special" items, like the Star sticker.

I do hope they monitor the photos and censor things quickly. This is obviously intended to be a family experience, and it would suck if some sullen teenage dirtbags had the ability to ruin it for people.

Only took me 2 seconds to connect to LBPOnline, was able to play some created levels (most were just easy trophy acquisitions, but World of Colour was still strong on the 1st page!!). Got my friend connected to me and we tried to play one user-created level that never loaded, but we had no problem in the Story levels playing together.

If the beta-experience was a 8/10, and last night was a 1/10, today at lunch was probably a 6.5/10 as far as connection issues goes.

let's just say there's quite a few that you go through the opening "door" or whatever, then immediately get shot up into the air at "incredible heights", then fall back down at "incredible speeds" while getting a 100X multiplier on the way down and end up with about 800,000 points...haha. If I hadn't already played my friends level first, I would have gotten 9 trophies on one level after commenting/hearting it.

Yeah, the story mode only took me about 5 hours to "complete", but it will take a lot longer to get 100% on everything. I'll try to remember to add you when I get home. I'd like to get a nice 4 player game going (especially since the later levels have a lot of 4X qualifiers), and everything always runs smoother when you have people from your friends list join, rather than strangers.
