Anyone else having a problem on any of their drums not registering fast rolls?

I can do 8th notes at a fairly fast tempo on hard but when it comes time to do a fast roll on a free form phrase or in a song like Don't Fear the Reaper or Run to the Hills, it's only registering every now and then...it seems like the faster I drum, the less it registers.

Yes my tempo is fine, played it on my friends kit last night and did fine on both of those songs...but when I got home started going through hard, I'm noticing a real problem on free form phrases. I try hitting harder or softer...that obviously isn't the issue here.

Anything I can do to fix this other than sending it back...I can play 95% of the songs fine but it's a bit obnoxious not to be able to pound out a nice roll for fills.

Try putting tape across the pads.

lmao yeah when i charge my phone i will...it's just a clear plastic tape though it's not duct tape :P

I just beat enter sandman on hard...pretty sure metallica songs are the funnest songs in this game to play on drums...ride the lightning = sweating profusely.

we shouldn't but i'm thankful I didn't have a bigger problem. Considering how difficult of a launch this is with factories belting out equipment, there is bound to be issues...I was ready for a lot worse stuff...

my theory is, don't cry about it, ask about it on the forums nicely and there's a chance you can fix it without a hassle. So I have tape on my drums, oh well, it performs exactly the same as anyone else's kit.

yeah it's not hard from a ryhthm standpoint on hard, but it's certainly a test of endurance.

That's kind of like ride the lightning, you play one fairly easy pattern for a long time, but it's fast and intense so it definately gets to you.

I have 2 sets left on hard, i can't wait ti bump this up to expert.

Yea I'd appreciate a pic if any one has it. I seem to be having the same issue. I assume you're just kind of gently taping it down some?

BTW Blue Dragonzero...that pic in your sig is an eye catcher!

Yeah, I've needed a new one for a while now. Check the "And Justice for All" vid to see it in action.

O dang I got a gold drum kit like Danny's...wewt...but run to the hills is kicking my ass...first song I've failed

As for how I taped my drums, i don't have a pic but here's a quick diagram i made.

Green area is a bit large compared to what I actually did but that's the general idea...you want to tape down the edges...I brought them almost all the way to the bottom piece, it works great...I dont think you want to quite go all the way down but you should be close.

Just do it like that and fold the excess under...it wont be pretty but it's worked great so far...probably will end up doing it to all of them for a more responsive kit...I could have used it for Wont get fooled again...but I still somehow got through it.
