how is rockband online

well im gettin this holiday season, and i was wonderin how the online experiance is( i live in the middle of nowere so its not goin to be a party game) will someone please tell what exactly you can do online and how it is

Try starting from Multiplayer Menu. Once there, you should have a few people waiting for band players ? This might not be totally all there is but it's how I started today.

You can either do match making (which I hardly EVER find anyone to duel against) or you can invite a friend or get invited. And the online play is flawless, no lag what so ever. Dshiz and I have been playing the last few days and it's just simply sex how well the online works. HMX did a great job with it.

Band Quick Play ( Play as a band )
Tug-o-War (Haven't tried this yet but you do instrument vs instrument (i.e. drums vs drums)
Score Duel ( Haven't gotten to do this one either but it's the same as Tug-O-War )

All of which can be player or ranked matches. And every instrument is available to duel against with.

I can join radom jams, but I cant join any invites and my friends cant join mine, they are also having the same problems. Can anyone help?

COVY, the only thing I can think of is that you or you friend's NAT is on moderate or high. I don't know how to fix it, but you should be able to find out to online.

I love it online. I always find a duel to play. Unlike GHIII where I always get thrown off.

Its quite good. When I play other games at home (Im a college student, home connection is much slower than college connection) I tend to lag. Not so with Rock Band.

This sounds to me like you're having NAT (network address translation) issues, which are probably caused by a router. If you and your friends are both running behind a firewall and the resulting NATs are strict you'll both be unable to play with one another, though you could play with other bandmates. To check if your NAT type is strict, go to the test connection utility in the system tab. If you buy a new router that's complaint with XBL it should evaluate to open (unless you're behind another firewall)
