I know the answer is probably burried somewhere on these boards but I couldn't find it. Just looking for a quick answer. Is it normal for the strum bar to be extra resistant to a downward strum. I mean it lets me strum, but you really have to push much harder than you do when strumming up. Is this normal or is my guitar possibly defective? Thank you very much.

I had the same thing happen to me. I know the guitars are supposed to be less "clicky" but I had to really "hit" the strum to get the notes (especially the fast ones). Funny thing is that I bought 2 bundles so I could have the extra guitar and the second guitar is less resistant on the strum but very loose from where the arm of the guitar connects to the base. I tightened the screw and it's still the same. The guitar quality doesn't seem to be consistent.
