Quick Guitar Question

I know the answer is probably burried somewhere on these boards but I couldn't find it. Just looking for a quick answer. Is it normal for the strum bar to be extra resistant to a downward strum. I mean it lets me strum, but you really have to push much harder than you do when strumming up. Is this normal or is my guitar possibly defective? Thank you very much

well this is what happened to me cuz it seemed like i had to press harder and harder to get the note to play and then the downstrum stopped working all together
