View Full Version : Anyone anticipating World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King? (Original)

Ok I'm back with my video game threads after some of my friends caught on to the idea...

I decided to hold back Gears of War 2 because Inpheksion's try at it got flamed, pretty bad. I'll put one up probably on Wednesday?

Anyways, Wrath of the Lich King. I am an extreme Warcraft player and have a level 70 Blood Elf Mage in my arsenal currently... I quit for a month to play Rock Band 2 and Gears because I was bored when raid groups decided that having a 14 year old in your group meant you suck and just plain bored paying $15 a month. I'm playing private servers every once and a while trying to entertain myself. I play on Bronzebeard btw if anyone wants to hit me up...

But about the game. The game brings forth a completely new area to the tip top north of Azeroth entitled, Northrend (Creative minds in Blizzard I see...). Northrend is governed mostly by the dreaded Lich led by the Lich King, Arthas. Inscription, a new profession is being included, a level 80 cap, a new Hero class called the Death Knight, and many more great things like Winterspring Lake Flying PvP, new dungeons and raids etc.

With over 11 million people playing the game right now there has to be people in the Rock Band forums who live their fantasy life on World of Warcraft.

Discuss!

I had to let my account expire a few months ago due to lack of funds :( I got excepted into the beta for this 2 days later. :/ Hopefully things will start looking up in the near future and I can get this :)

Sweet! Must have been fun. How was it like? I heard Blizzard toke a lot of time putting every last touch on the detail of the background.

I don't think you understand. My account expired and then 2 days later I received an email saying I got excepted in to the beta.. I FINALLY get excepted and no account :/ That stung.

That stinks. I would have rather not gotten accepted at all after that :p

You can start a character from scratch or transfer over your characters to use in that beta (which they prefer seeing as you're testing out levels 71-80). My paying account had to be active for this..

I used to play that game but I got bored around lvl 35 or so. It was just taking me so long to level, and all I really wanted to do was to get to 60 for BC content.

However, from what i've seen from WoTLK, it looks awesome and if I had a lvl 60 or 70 I would definately be anticipating it. Too bad I can't bring myself to get those 25 extra levels.

Yeah, Levels 35- 60 can drive you bat**** insane, especially when you've rerolled several characters (like me) but once you get past that it's fun :) I just get on voice with people and entertain myself that way while stopping every ten level around 19,29,39 etc to pvp to change it up a bit. (I play on PvE servers).

All this talk of WoW is making me jones for it.. you people are evil I tell ya! :p

I think the hardest levels are definitely 13-20 after the starting area are the hardest...

Sadly, yes. I'm hoping the expansion will revive my interest in the game. I haven't played in over a year due to how tedious the leveling process was once I hit 60, but I'm willing to take the plunge again if Northrend has a lot to offer.

The influx of idiots that joined the game a year after release didn't help matters much, either.

I tried out the WOTLK beta hoping it would rekindle my interest in WoW, but no cigar.
I'll admit to being a hardcore player (killed Kil'Jaeden pre-nerf) up until about last month; consider me burnt out I suppose.

Not really, I got off that game. There are too many *******s and its too addicting.

Sides, Guild Wars is more fun. And I didnt steal your thread, I actually made it to prove a point to a friend that the Xbox community was more looking forward to Gears 2. I was right.

I play Alliance on Ravenholdt and Horde on Malestrom, both RPPVP.

Level 70 Paladin, Druid, and Shaman on Alliance and a level 67 UD Rogue horde side I been playing.

Looking forward to this, the game has gotten REALLY boring recently. I preordered the Collector's Edition,

I was an officer in a raiding guild on one of the original launch day servers. We were on the cutting edge of content for a while and I remember raiding being a LOT of fun. However, it was time consuming. 5 days a week we'd raid. Raiding would begin at 7PM and go to 11. Sometimes later if we could get people that would stay. After raid I'd have numbers to run, stats to check and member reports to file. I really like organizational things so I didn't mind. But all in all I basically had a second job. 7pm-2am 5 days a week.

The expansion came out, everyone started getting a little bit more casual. I ended up running our guild for about 4 months or so while we were doing just easy stuff that didn't take much planning. We tried to go hardcore, but couldn't get enough interest. Then, I stopped playing for a few months and since then I can't get back into raiding. I'm too far behind right now.

Hoping that when the new expac hits, I'll get to 80 at a reasonable time period and raid with the guild I'm currently in (transferred to a different server to be with a friend and it's a guild that's top 3 or 4 on Horde side progression for the server.)

Burning Blade is the server I'm on now if anyone has a character there.
