View Full Version : Changing difficulties?

So we played through 2 cities or so, just myself using drums on easy, and two people playing guitar on medium. A few other friends came over, and changed the difficulty of one guitar to expert and the other to hard.

Now the game is saying that we have to raise our difficulty to gain more fans? I can't play the drums on medium, at all. The others lowered their difficulty back down to the medium level they were at originally. The game is still saying we have to raise the difficulty.

Is there a way around this? I'm not going to continue to try and play something I can't play. What's the point in me owning it if the game refuses to let me advance without upping my difficulty level? That's ridiculous.

Once you get a certain amount of fans you have to play the game on hard or higher to finish.

so you cant play anymore or you just cant get more fans? since if you can still play you willg et good enough for medium soon.

This is a fine example of something that needs to be changed if it can be at all. Not every band has people who are able to play on hard difficulty and only completing a couple cities before being forced to play on a level that is unrealistic for some is something that will turn people away from playing the game.

In BWT? Mine did that too. You can still play just after the song is finished it will says "You have gained 0 fans. Play on a higher difficulty to earn more fans." Personally I was playing drums on medium and my friend was playing guitar on medium. We both tried to play on Hard (him not having played GH much) and we both failed. I went back down to medium but he was determined to be able to use the orange button lol. Anyway, he kept failing and I had to keep bringing him back or preventing him from failing with Overdrive but the game did give us more fans with him playing Lead on Hard and me playing drums on Medium. Then eventually it got too hard for him so he started playing bass on Hard. Anyway, you get the point...

The question is...

What venues and events are locked out unless everybody's on Hard?

Allegedly you can "finish" the game (beating the Hall of Fame, unlocking Endless Setlist) with everyone on Medium... but I have yet to hear from anybody who's done that. It sounds like you top off on fans really, really fast, even on Medium, and all progress halts.

My guess is if you can get at least two people who play hard or expert, you can just cut the other instruments out of the game for a bit, unlock more venues, and then add the others back in on lower difficulties. won't be able to prove this until sunday however.

Yeah, we restarted a band and made the guitar lead. He plays on hard, I played drums on easy and bass was on medium.

Yet again we hit a hault, and were asked to play on a harder difficulty. It's not happening. If I can't unlock all of the songs in the game for use in Quickplay this way, then I'm not keeping this game. It's a waste of money to buy something you can't even play.

For those stuck on drums on easy, I'd really recommend playing through the drum solo career. It really doesn't take long to get used to it and be ready for medium. (I was able to move to medium after doing pretty horrible on my first few times on the drums on easy.) Honestly, just think of it as a practice mode. Band members usually do practice the songs before they perform them. :)

The game's only been out a few days. Give it a little time to get better.

Besides, do you really want to play on easy forever?
