Okay,
So, I havent had the issues that ya'll have, the guitar <gasp> :eek:is actually growing on me, the drums are the S***, but the mic is really irratating me.
PS3 picks up the mike just fine, but when I go to sing, there is a really irratating lag in the vocal delivery. The game is recognizing it, but I hear it when I sing a note and have to wait a second to hear it.
Before you say "Call EA" there is a hitch; I have tried 3 different MICs. The Handheld, and two headets that I have in there. I have adjusted, calabrated everything. The other instruments work fine, but mic is really irratating me.
Any suggestions??
Thanks Guys

I have the same issue, you sing and then hear it a 1/4 -1/2 sec later from the speaker. Really annoying.

Try going into the options and changing them for the Mic. Go into practice mode and test them out. If you hold the buttons on the controller it will show the options for Sensitivity etc, on the fly. So you can adjust them.
I hope this helps, but there is a small delay when I sing as well, which I think is suppose to be there for effect. But its very very small, and when played out of loud speakers, thats about all how I hear myself :D

workaround is to disable dolby output.

The lag issue is both with the mic and with the drum fills. Turning off DD does not help in 99% of the cases. The issue will require a patch by HMX or you buying an entirely new A/V set-up. There are a number of other threads on here about this, you should check them out. For now, HMX is looking into the problem.

I turned off DD 5.1 and it helped a lot, but still a bit of lag. I really want to use 5.1, and it still is off a bit even with stereo. I hope that they work on this problem. Maybe change the way the mic/vocals are handled audiowise.

Okay, going through many of the "mic lagging" threads...if i missed some, I'm sorry...
I can see how Dolby Digital or having any kind of surround sound could mess you up because that how surround sound is suppose to work, it delays the speakers to give you the "effect" of a larger room. However, I don't think that that is where the problem lies. I've used RB for the past few days, without any problems, and I noticed the mic lag last night for the first time and I was pissed off but, I restarted my PS3 and it worked fine after the reboot.
Later on I played some of the demo games on my hard drive and I wondered if there would be lag on the mic again. Sure enough there it was...I rebooted the PS3 and low and behold it was fixed again.
Yeah I think it definately can be fixed as a firmware thing but, for Harmonix to be able to get Sony and Microsoft to release firmware upgrades for the sake of their own mistake, is whole other matter.
I hope this helps even just one of you out, if it doesn't help anybody out, sorry for wasting your time but, it's always worth a try.
