As I post this I am not trying to cause arguement, I am not trying to be obnoxious, I am not trying to get anyone angry. I know that the world is tumultuous and I know that not everyone agrees with America, but today I pay heed to my Nation, the land that I love, that land that has allowed me my life as I deem fit.
God Bless America on this day.

I live in Australia and I like Canada better.
... Better than America... I'm not all like anti-America though... I just think Canada kicks ass.

Happy 4th America.
We kicked off the day in a rock sort of way ...
My son, 12, played his first song for us. The Star Spangled Banner, Boston style. If you haven't heard that version, it sounds somewhat like Jimi Hendrix's but with more instruments. He didn't do any of the fancy fingerwork, just the standard notes in an overdriven sort of way.
Now most here would think it's not a big deal but for me it is. Not too long ago (2 months?), we got him his first electric guitar. He hasn't had the chance to sit down and learn the thing due to school (now over) and other activities. But he said to me that he really wanted to learn one song to start him off. What song would be more fitting for the time of year and it's popularity? I popped in one of my Boston cds and found the song. We both figured out the notes ourselves which is pretty amazing since neither of us can play the guitar. After I created the tabular for it so we can remember the notes, he found the time to practice it.
And it sounded perfect on the morning of July 4th.
... and then the rain came :( I thought I saw Evan Almighty sailing down my country road.

Why thank you, Mr. Green Super Hero guy with the protruding eyes. You make me want to go dive off a skyscraper to see if I can fly.
