Hi, I'm having a really hard time with drums. Medium is too boring but hard is to hard. Will playing medium make me better or should I just practice songs on hard? If anyone has any tips for me that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You have to feel the rhythm. If you just look at the notes, you will not do well. You have to feel the groove and go with it, keeping the beat in your head, not trying to time the notes like the guitar. Hear how the count is and you can even keep count in your head.

Practice, practice, practice. Limb independence is a critical skill.

not really. that's why we're telling you to practice. no-one (except bloody Colin...) is born with the ability to do it, you practice like a ***** and then you suddenly get it. it took me two weeks of having Island In The Sun tattooed into my brain before I got it, heh.

Yeah. You just have to suck it up and play the same songs over and over again until you get the kick in one song... then progress to the next song and do the same thing over again.
Trying to jump ahead before you understand what you're going (even if you pass a song) is just going to make you even more frustrated when you go as far as you can and realize you still suck hard at drumming.
I recommend starting on hard if you have any kind of rhythm. The first few songs are easy enough to make that feasible.

GGHT on medium kicked my A## the one time I tried it, I failed at about 65-70%. Then went to practice it at 80% and 90% and just said screw it ill beat it tomorrow, and started unlocking songs on the rockabana tour thing. GGHT is so *** from about 50% on lol

If you get lost and have the crowd in the yellow or better, stop trying to hit the notes all together and just focus on the kick pedal for two beats. Then do kick, right hand. Then kick, both hands. Picks you right back up into it.
I also agree with the whole "feel the song" advise. If you aren't head bobbing to the beat and really getting into it, you are going to lose it every time.

Works really well for me too! I think even a tip during one of the loading screens says this or similar.
It took me years to get good at GH, I'm already enjoying glimpses of getting comfortable with Medium or some of the harder Easy parts.
Overall I've also found it's a great help to relax and smile and play the song. Being nervous and playing it like a game makes it tougher than it is, getting into the groove and enjoying it helps me every time.
