Guitar is not recognized.

Brand new, out of the box, the game will not recognize the guitar controller. I have batteries in it, have tried unplugging all controllers, then plugging in the guitar first, but nothing works. Is there an invisible on/off switch I am missing? I assume its just dead and needs to be returned, anybody have any tips?

Took the guitar apart, ended up being that the red power wire for the batteries was not soldered to the board. Some high build quality right there! Soldered the wire to the board, guitar works as advertised. I like the game and all, but with all the horror stories of equipment failure, doesnt look too promising.

The Les Paul only seems to work with the 360 version and not the PS3 version.
