View Full Version : Wireless Mic Won't Work With Wireless Instruments

I was playing band quickplay on Xbox Live over the weekend. I was playing the drums (new wireless Rock Band 2 drums, not sure which model). As usual, the drums were synched up to the first controller slot, both my Xbox and the drums were working fine. I turned on my wireless mic (I have both, the original one and the Halo 3 one, this happened with both). It went to the second player controller slot. Now, for those of you unfamiliar with the way the wireless mic works, you sync up your controller, and then you turn on the wireless mic, and it automatically syncs to the controller slot you're using. So, if you're the first player, you turn on your controller, it'll go to the firs slot, then you turn on the mic, and on the mic, it will show that it too is synced to the first slot. When using wireless instruments, the Xbox will not allow an instrument and a mic to be on the same slot, rendering the mic totally useless for talking to people whilst playing. The wireless mic worked fine in Rock Band 1 (not sure if the Rock Band 1 drums will allow the mic to sync properly or not, as I haven't tried. Can we please get a patch for this from either Harmonix or Microsoft?

I know you're not supposed to bump threads, but I'm hoping to get some feedback on this issue, as the wireless mic is the only functioning mic I have...

Again, bumping solely to try and get some attention to this issue, not trying to break any rules.

I've read that the newer models of the RB2 set work with the Xbox wireless headset. My EL set didn't, but I'll test my SL that I received yesterday and get back to you. Try calling EA support @ 650-628-1001, they may be able to give you an answer.
