What if an actual band played?

What would happen if the actual singers of one of the songs on Rock Band played the game and sang their song using the mic?

Do you think they would ace it? What about the drummer??

the drummer could ace it as long as they can visually comprehend the rock band style of notes coming down the screen.

It would be very hard for a vocalist to nail it as singers can rarely sing identical to their album recordings live. And also many of the songs are very old and the singers may not be in the same vocal shape as they used to be.

I was wondering the same thing. If James Hetfield was somehow able to sing Blackened on expert, note for note absolutely perfect the exact same way he sounds on the studio recording, would he pass it? I really don't think he would. The game seems to focus more on range than anything else. The little singing lines feel very inaccurate to me.

On expert, they would probably fail it if it's the first time, at least the guitar and singing. Live is much more forgiving that this game. They can be a second off and no one will notice. They can add their own part anywhere they want, just for fun and the crowd will love it, but the game will kill your for playings notes you shouldn't be. Singers usually sing totally different lines. The drummer, from what I heard, is the only instrument that get close to the real thing.

And on recording, they do it multiple times and pick the best parts, so they can do a lot of mistakes.

The guitarists would probably have the toughest time, because playing guitar in the game is least like the real instrument. The drummer would probably do ok, and the singer probably would too.
