My wireless adapter is broke, but I still downloaded the songs onto my HD and Gamertag from another xbox, and now I can play the songs on my Xbox but only when online!!
I dont see the purpose of this and would like to know if anyone else is having this problem or is this my own issue individual.
THanks for any help

Unfortunately, that's usually how it works for DLC :(

Yep. That's how all DLC works. When you DL it, it gets tied to your live account, and you can only play it offline on the Xbox you DL'd it on. If you want to put your HD on a different 360, you will need to login to Live in order to access it.

well if i follow u, u downloaded the songs using your gamertag on another 360 right? well if thats the case, you would have to recover ur gamertag on ur 360 and redownload the songs, then you should be fine and you wouldnt have to be connected online to play them.

I took my Xbox to a friends house to download the DLC and I've been playing it at home with no internet connection for 4 days now.

They don't advertise this fact, but you should never download stuff from xbox live using your gamertag on someone else's xbox for this reason. You will NEVER be able to play this content offline.

you don't have to be on live, you just have to be on your profile. At least that's in my experience.

This is how it goes.
On the Xbox you originally downloaded it from, the DLC will be available for ALL profiles.
If that profile is moved onto another Xbox, you must be online to play it. This is prevent people from putting their profile on every console and giving them free content.
Make sense?

Yeah, that kinda sucks, and it affects most DLC. I share my console's and my laptop's network cable because there's too many PCs in my appartment and I prefer wired over wireless, but I can't even play DLC offline when someone is using my laptop on the web.

it was my HD drive though and gamertag, does it matter what xbox it was on. I just put my HD into someone elses xbox, which is essentally like moving my xbox
if I delete the files, then download on again on my xbox will that work you think, i tired this once, without deleting and saw no difference

It does matter which xbox it's on. DLC is not tied to the HD, it's licensed to the console it's downloaded onto, it's just stored on the HD. I doubt deleting it will help, but it's worth a shot I guess.

That's tied to your account, not your console. Some people like to share things wich is probably why with 360 it's the console.

Aside from Warhawk (I don't know about RB's DLC), every other downloads are on the HDD it was downloaded on. So if there's another account, it will have access to it. If you swap your HDD, the content will follow. But it is ALSO tied to your PSN account. So if I go at my friend's house and log with my account, I won't have my downloads, but if I go to the PS Store, it will recognize the items as already purchased, and you can redownload them (up to 5 times, so don't share too much or you might end up having to buy it again if you somehow lose it). Other accounts of your friend's PS3 will also have access to it. Warhawk is the only game that can only played by the downloader, and cannot be played on another PS3 for 24h, so your friend can't log with your name and play from his PS3 if you just played it. The disc version obviously has no limitations.
