So I don't get to play my own Rock Band until Monday, since it is at school, and I am not. My friend who lives an hour away got one as well. He brought it over last night and we played for a long time, going through band world tour mode and having a blast. I'm starting to get the hang of drums and loving it!

Anyways he left last night, and left everything here because he'd just come back today. So I go to play it an hour or so ago and I turn it on, open the disc drive and it makes a funny noise, pop the disc in, close the drive it makes a noise like the disc is getting scratched and then it makes a loud sustained beep. I quickly take the disc out, inspect it, it's fine. But now no matter what I have tried, any combination of discs and opening the tray and turning the system on and off, it says every disc is unreadable and makes awful noises.

Now I feel terrible for a ton of reasons. I feel responsible for it, plus I don't get to play Xbox/Rock Band, and most importantly, neither does he. Especially if he has to send it in for repairs! He wont play it forever, This blows. I feel bad.

That does suck, but it ain't your fault. You know the 360's have issues. Regardless of how "great" they are and how extensive their library is. Its one of those things you can't help.

Oh man, that sucks, but you can't really blame yourself (despite what your friend might think/do), the disc-read error happens to tons of peoples' 360s. I think the best thing to do would be have him come over and play RockBand with him until your 360 blows up (which might not take to long, lol).

That's weird man =\ But I've heard a few 360s doing that, only thing you can do for it is send it in for repairs which really sucks. I hope the next one doesn't crap out on him.

Yea I "googled" it and found out that there were lots of 360s acting this way, it was more common than I thought. Basically nothing you can do but send it in for repairs, which stinks. I just hope my 360 can survive the amount of playtime I plan to put in with Rock Band. It seems like everyones 360 breaks at least once.

About one every three times I try to play RB it tells me it can't read the disc, and it seems to disconnect from the internet often when I play it. However, mine has not failed or made strange noises. Do you think I should expect it to happen soon? It's only with this game that this happens.

My PS3 which I've had a month has had more freezes/errors than my 360 I got at launch.
