Can someone please explain to me why Freebird is seen as such an iconic song? I've heard it, and frankly, it's not that great in my opinion. I'm not trying to flame or anything, I just don't get the appeal of this one song. Everyone seems to want it...

If it gets put up as DLC, great for all you people who want it, but it doesn't particularly appeal to me.

I honestly think Freebird might have been the best choice of ANY song that HMX has put in any of their games so far. It's challenging, but hella fun and just awesome to listen to. I wouldn't give this a second thought about DLing it.

I played it recently on GH2 myself, but my calibration is kinda off and I failed about a minute or two after the solo started :p I've gotten too accustomed to the RB engine.

I've played this song on GH2, and wasn't that amazed by it. As I said, if it makes it into the game, great for the people who want it, but I don't get it. The only thing I ever hear people say about it is that it's long...

U probably only heard the first two minutes of the song. wait til l you've gotten five minutes into the song, and the last five minutes of the track is pure amazingness!

It's not that it's a great song or anything,
though, it's not bad.

I'm not much into the whole "Whoo badass guitar solo's are badass"
scene, because I don't really play guitar.
I play bass, and uh, drums.

You have to understand that the whole "Free Bird is amazing" thing,
is, for the most part, a huge inside joke among the musical world.

When people hear it, they know it,
and I suppose that helps.

Does Guitar Hero have exclusive rights over the song or no? Seems that it has been featured in several GH games, but none for HMX. Really been hoping for it, but I think it is a lost cause. I'll end up having to get GH to play it on drums or vocals *shudder*.

It was in GH2 which HMX made, though it was a cover(but still) Guitar Hero Smash Hits has it(its the master version) and those are the only games that have it.
