Guitar hero 3 controllers on rock band

I own a ps3 and have gh3 and was wondering if I could use their controller on rock band

From what I've read, the 360 guitar hero 3 controller works for rock band, but not the PS3 one.

I can confirm that the 360 wired and wireless GH controllers both work with Rock Band.

I *love* the Strat that came with Rock Band, but my strum died on day one. For Thanksgiving, we used the Xplorer and Gibson GH controllers and they worked just fine. Hopefully, the RH guitar issues will be worked out so I can get a couple of those instead. (I really wish I could use the Strat with GH, but Activision are being jerks to the extreme, even putting that you can't use other people's hardware with GH into the legal disclaimer as the game loads.)

no the ps3 one doesn't work. I just used activisions ask a question feature on their website as to why and if they are working on a fix with harmonix. kinda curious what type of answer they'll come back with if they even do

I'll do the same thing.... I mean - look at this situation:

The PS3 GH guitar DOESN'T work with the PS3 (which could've been solved by allowing a player using a controller to choose between mike and guitar), and then they don't release the guitar by itself right away. So there's no way to guitar dual, or have a full band, until they come out with the guitar - whenever that'll be - unless I go by another complete system! I mean, I'll wait to get the RB guitar when it comes out solo, but It's the holidays, and I can't play with all my friends. Kinda sucks. really.
