Man, I have been waiting for this game, but I have a Wii. Why is this game not coming out for the Wii? Will it ever come out for the Wii?

There are a few threads asking this question already.

I am also a Wii owner and am disappointed. Luckily I am also a PS2 owner, so I am getting it for that (standalone) for the time being in hopes that a Wii version will be announced.

Given the popularity of GHIII on the Wii, as well as the general popularity of the Wii itself, I have no doubt in my mind that EA will want to bring Rock Band to the Wii. Plus it's a perfect Wii title, given that the Wii is all about casual, social, gaming.

I'm guessing that it would have been just too hard to incorporate the Wii into the initial release, given the difficulty of making instruments as it is.

1. Crap online. The Wiis online capabilitys are severley limited so no DLC for you!
2. Graphics. HMX will need to scale down the graphics create a rocker and animations before it comes out on Wii.
3. Nintendo. They WILL NOT let ANYTHING on their system unless it uses the Wii-mote. HMX will need to Re-design the guitar and probably the mic so they use the Wii-mote

Plus it's a perfect Wii title, given that the Wii is all about casual, social, gaming.

Hey nicko, guess what WRONG, WRONG, WRONG WRONG, WRONG WRONG WRONG, WRONG, YOURE WRONG!

Rock band is anything but casual. youre stupid as dirt. Hoping for a GOOD Wii port is like hoping for a GOOD pc version of Halo 3.

Blackjack is certainly being a negative nancy today...

But yeah, in response to the OP, no Rock Band for Wii. Sorry. Maybe later down the line, but not now.

thanks for the info guys. I just don't have the time to go searching around every forum on earth, and I didn't know if there was some announcement or something that I had missed. Well, hopefully they come out with this for the wii sometime, because when they do i will buy it immediately, as I am sure many Wii owners will also.

You realize the PS2 ALSO doesn't meet the graphical intensity of the PS3 and 360 verson too, don't you? Yet they're still making one for that.

i would have thought they would put out a wii and ps2 version at the same time, cause they would be pretty similar

Wii doesn't meet the graphical intensity of the PS2.

Also, do you really think that Rock Band pushes the graphical limits of the ps3 or 360?

I'll believe it when I see a wii game looks better than Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy 12, or Ico.

Usually, launch games have better graphics than earlier systems. The wii has been out a year now and it's still lagging behind PS2

And, btw, the Gamecube had a better graphics processor than the PS2. It is all in the development on how it is used, as the above pictures show for the Wii.

Well, the game is also on PS2, so the game could be watered down for points 1 and 2. The Guitar can get away with point 3, like in GH3, but not the Mic.

I think the basic answer is time and money.

Harmonix created the GH1, GH2 and GH:80's games for Xbox360 and PS2... so they already had available code and know-how for those two consoles

Rock Band is the largest, most expensive game they have ever produced.... it hadn't been solicited and backed by a peripheral manufacturer like Red Octane did for the first two games.

With that in mind, maybe they decided to only add a version for one additional console... making it a choice between PS3 and Wii.

The Wii has sold more consoles, but I think their games-per console numbers are less impressive than PS3's.... also you have to understand that casual gamers are buying Wii for two reasons:
1. It is a bit of a novelty/fad with casual gamers
2. It is CHEAP..... meaning that most Wii owners who paid $250 for their Wii would probably have a problem paying almost that much ($170) for a single game for it.

I think that HMX sees the PS3 as the console that offers more growth (and DLC revenue) than the Wii

question for them was probably which of the other two next gen consoles (PS3 or Wii) to
