Okay, so me and my family love Rock Band. Absolutely love it. It's brilliant! We can't stop playing!
HOWEVER, We've been having some real issues with the hardware. At first our yellow drum pad broke. This was lame and annoying, and my brother and sister would only be home from college for about half a week. So we went out and bought another one and planned to return our first with the broken drum set (lame, but oh well, we're strapped for time and we all wanted to play). Then, the strum bar on our first guitar died, so we opened up the guitar that came with the other one. Then that guitar's strum bar broke. (I really think this is a problem with the Fender guitar's strum bar, as the guitar that came with GH2 works perfectly after nearly a year of service. Too bad I prefer the Fender one because of the incredibly awesome tone selector!!!)
Do we play too hard? Is it us, or are other people experiencing similar problems?
Also, theres a vocal part in Wave of Mutilation that just does not fit (it goes down when it should go up). It bothers me late at night. But, the very fact that the Pixies are in Rock Band fills me with such joy it overpowers this gripe.

No my friend you are not the only one. Although I have not had a problem with my fender which is the best guitar IMHO, I have had problems with the drums. The first thing is my yellow pad and blue pad either registers that I am not hitting or registers that I am double hitting which causes it to say I missd notes. The bigger issue is the bass pedal. Mine cracked in half on the second day of me owning the game. So I called EA and they have another on coming to me. So I did what any other RB lover would do and duct taped the pedal together. That worked pretty well for a couple of hours then it craked in three other places. So I feel your pain and now I have to order a replacement drum set. I do think that it is bull that if you want them to send you one in the mail by fedex and let you send your defective one back that you have to give them a credit card. They state it is so they can charge you if you do not return the broken one. I do not think we should have to give them one as we are not going to want to keep broken equipment anyways! This is just the cost of doing business!! Good luck to you and happy rocking!!:D
