what does his question have anything to do with compatability between systems?

Someone in another thread said they'd tested this and it does work.

blackjack, you're an idiot.

What is your problem blackjack? It isn't a dumb question at all. Do you even realize what he is asking? Of course since no songs are designed for using 2 pedals they are all playable with one pedal. But if somone wanted to hook up 2 pedals into a splitter I don't see why that wouldn't work. Think about it. Both pedals would be connected equally. Each pedal should be able to send the signal. Theoretically it should work.

Maybe Harmonix knows this already and plan on making DLC with double bass. They would have to make it known that the track would need an additional bass pedal hooked up. Even though I see this being able to work, I don't see any double bass DLC coming anytime soon. I'm sure they have more important issues to worry about for now.

I would ignore this person. He is blasting every question asked on the last few posts I have read

By this person, I of course mean blackjack

to answer your question, I doubt that would work. Even though you are splitting the signal, it is still sending the signal simultaneously which means that 1 will cancel out the other.

Your best bet would be to get a type of switch that would send a delay in the signal when you press on it, but the trouble with that is you would get a double count every time

not really. it's not a continuous signal. there's usually nothing travelling over the channel. when you press the pedal, it sends a signal. so you could hook up 17,000 pedals with a splitter, if you like, and press whichever one you wanted. each one would send the same signal over the channel to the controller. it has no idea how many pedals are connected to it. all it knows is it whether it's getting a signal from the channel or not. as I said, I've read in another thread that someone's actually gone out and *tested* this and it worked.

it's actually possible that you could find a standalone pedal that would work. HMX may just have used some kind of standard interface for the signal. via experimentation, some people have found out that you can plug some keyboard sustain pedals into the crappy DrumMania console drum kit, for instance. I wouldn't be shocked if the RB kit is the same, but it's possible it's not.

Oh, I see. I was thinking backwards. I agree, that should work

This does in fact work...I bought two bundles, I basically wanted two guitars, and a Co-worker wants to buy the drums/game/mic. So, I managed to find a splitter in my draw full of knacks from an old cambridge speaker system. I pulled out his pedal and hooked it up. It does Indeed work but there is a catch.... I Play bass drum with my foot pressed down resting on the pedal, then I lift and press to activate it. You CAN NOT have both pedals down and lift to press as I do cause neither will register. You have to have your foot raised and held above each pedal to have them work. This tires my leg out to fast.

It sounds like it would be easier with two pedals as I thought it would be, but I found it was alot harder as I had to concentrate even more on an extra limb flailing independently :p

Yes, using two pedals is usually more trouble than it's worth. It's only really useful for playing extended very fast bass beats, which is a technique used extensively by metal drummers and...well, no-one else, really.
