This post reminds me of "Grandma's Boy" where he beats dance dance revolution and gets a high score. Then he asks the guy who he was playing against what that meant and asked if he had broken the game or something by getting this "high score" thing on the screen.

I didn't know you could get gold stars...I've gotten 100% on many songs on Hard and never seen gold stars. Just the regular white ones. Did you get 100% notes hit on expert???

I wondered the same thing. I've gotten 100% a few times, on guitar and vocals, and never got gold stars.

It's not to do with getting 100% of notes, it's how you use overdrive etc. to maximise your score. So you can get 5 gold stars with even 98% of the notes.

Gold stars are about score now... meaning you won't get one with 100% and poor overdrive use. But you can get them with good overdrive usage and a couple misses.

sweet, now i have to go back and gold star everything lol. I thought they left that out. I think I am going to like it being score based. Now I can at least make a simple mistake but still kick ass on the score. Makes sense.
