I hope that R.E.M. is not exclusive to Guitar Hero because I think they would find a larger, more appreciative audience from us guys.

Is there a list of bands that have signed exclusitivity deals between the two games?

I can only think of two bands: Aerosmith and Metallica (maybe Jimi Hendrix too, since he's getting his own GH too)

Why are we more appreciative exactly? Who's we?

I'm sorry but there's nothing that defines "Rock Band players" other than the fact that they play Rock Band. We've got plenty of whiners too, and a lot of people who love REM play GH. Actually, many people own both games.

I think the difference is a generational one and I say that because my son (and most of his friends) play Guitar Hero not becuase of musical appreciation, but because they are looking for challenge and high scores.

Thats not to say us "Rockers" dont care about challenge and scores, but compared to the "Heroes" it is not priority. Of course I might not know what I am talking about in any case, but I merely wanted to open a discussion about R.E.M. and bands that will never be in two games.

I know what you are sayng about the whole scores vs. fun aspect. When Rockband first released fanboys of GH were reluctant to try RB and undoubtedly thought singing was for pussies. The ones that did try RB said the game was too easy and then bought GH Aerosmith and waited until Activision and Neversoft ripped off Harmonix and EA. Now that the games are entirely too similar the fanboys will still cite difficulty and the inclusion of Metallica as the reason GHWT is the superior title...
R.E.M. not known for anything more technically brilliant than open strumming jangly riffs, P-mac-ish Bass lines, awesome lyrics and a great sense of humour would probably find more players in the RB community.

Yeah, I would like to see more R.E.M. in the game.

We have "Orange Crush", but that's not enough! ;)
