Bundle Guitar = Wired??

Just got back from pre ordering the love of my life at work, but apparently Gamestop got an email from corporate saying that the Rock Band Bundle will come with a WIRED guitar and wireless everything else.. if this is true that is god damn stupid, they recommended I bought the game and instruments separately which would be like 40-50$ more. I kept telling them that none of this was confirmed yet especially the prices but they seemed set in saying the guitar would be wired. If anything I would think the drums would be the wired ones (hopefully all will be wired *glare*). if you want the best game possible to ship (GOTY!) it best all be wireless and everything top tier.

I'm just curious if anyone has heard anything else about htis? It would be killer to get a wired guitar and not be able to rock out to the fullest or be forced to spend extra money on a wireless guitar (which there better be an option available at launch). I mean, I will probably buy another guitar for multiplayer but hell.. I only have so much money.. RB and GH3 alone are gonna run me close to 350.. that is way too killer..

Corporate means the Gamestop higher-ups, who know just as much as the lackeys working there. Wait until the prices are actually announced before complaining.

I read somewhere... I forgot where... but I heard the whole thing would be $200. I pre-ordered it and put $20 down on it so I get everything. I doubt the guitar will be wired, BTW. Even then, think of it as an Amp cord then. =\

This from the same 'company' that 'promised' us wireless x-plorer controllers for GH2. Turns out they're still on backorder!

Put your pre-orders in, but know they are SUBJECT TO CHANGE. Just be smart and don't take Gamespot's word for it.

thats because thats the day they receive it. It's street dated. they have signs in store for the 24th.

I ****ing hate street dates. ugh. I wish they could just sell it on the 17th/18th. So stupid, like it will sell less or something.

From what has been discussed on here in the past few weeks, I was almost positive that the guitars are going to be wireless. In fact I am sure we have read an interview with someone stating the guitar would be wireless.

I would expect the drum peripheral to be wired, simply because (unless you are gonna tie it round your neck) the drummer does not tend to move around the room (Im being careful here). While the drummer tends to be fairly animated, they do tend to finish songs in roughly the same place they started them :)

Also, I don't know why but I am thinking a 'quality' wireless Mic sounds expensive? So I am really expecting that to be wired, but hopefully with a few meters of descent cord.

It would be nice if all the peripherals were wireless, just to save tripping hazzards, but a whole heap of batteries will be required ;)

yeah, all wireless would be sweet.. but I really think guitar and especially mic should be wireless. but we will see I guess.

It wouldn't be too bad if the drum wasn't wireless. Might also help prevent guitarists and singers running in front of you when your playing... the fear of tripping over cords could become your friend.

While I'm sure EVERYTHING (to a point) will be cleared up at E3, the idea of WIRED guitars may not be a great one.

--The MIC pretty much has to be USB.

--The DRUMS - it would make sense for them to be USB, mainly the size of the hardware (not gonna be too moveable during a song), and a way to keep the costs down on one - potentially - very expensive peripheral.

Not too sure about the PS3, but I know the XBOX 360 has only 3 USB ports. Only TWO available if you're using the WIRELESS NETWORK ADAPTER - like me.

So, due to the lack of USB ports, in order to get the 4 person experience going... the guitars pretty much HAVE to be wireless...

Any thoughts to add to this?

PS3 has 4 USB ports, and doesn't need to use one for networking. I would hope that the PS3 peripherals will be wireless, but with USB connectors for the purposes of charging, a la the sixaxis.

The 360 does support USB hubs. My friend has 3 wired controllers and they all work fine using a USB hub plugged into the front of the 360.
