Does anyone know when the sturdier bundles were produced? I'm worried as mine says Date of manufacture was October 10 2007 and I can't open it for another 4 weeks.

There is no improved production date. It's a gamble with all bundles made at any point.

Why don't they test them before they're shipped?

What I'd rather know is when they're going to start shipping new guitars that actually and uniformly work for more than a few hours.

Well I have had my request for a new guitar in since Tuesday AM, and the new one hasn't shipped yet. This could just be because of the holiday -or- they could be waiting for a new version of the guitar to come off the production lines before sending them out. I wouldn't mind waiting even a week or two if the latter is the case.

I agree. Mine works well enough to get by for the most part, but still bad enough that I can't justify spending money on it...hence, I want a new (read: fixed) one.

just wonderin... saw some guy on these forums saying drums were different like 3 or 4 screws and ribs vs. no ribs to hold poles. (that's what she said) and guitars with foam/springs, 3 batteries vs. 2, etc.
If it helps mine, (which i am not supposed to know about, it's in my parents's closet 'til x-mas sigh), is dated october 10th 2007. For xbox 360.

WEll guys I exchanged my Rock Band from launch day because my guitar broke yes the Downstrum thing. I noticed somethings different with my new box, first it had a yellow sticker on top thta says "If you encounter a problem with any rock Band peripheral, Do Not return to the store contact and EA's website" also at the bottom of the box I have a manufacture date 10/28/07.
My first box did not have any of this on it so what do you guys think? are there more versions of the game?

My original box did not have either sticker on, this one does have both one yellow on top and a white with the date on the bottom. I have the 360 version of the game.
I've been using the new drums for a couple of hours now and it is different, let's start with the weight of the sticks they are much lighter, I could tell right away when I started playing a song, they felt shorter as well, also the noise of the drums was more hollow instead of the "thud" that I heard before, they are way more sensitive befoe I could kind of touch the skin and it wouldn't register now I barely touch and it regisaters, another thing I noticed the kick pedal felt weaker too and the plastic is different I will even say cheaper, the D-pad is very loose noe very easy to use which was really stiff on my old drum kit to the point that I had to really put pressure on it to make it work and for some reason the whole kit felt narrower.
On the guitar not much changed it's working and the only difference I noticed on this were the fret buttons were stiffer but nothing else.
I would say to Harmonix are there more than one type of manufacture for this peripheral? and if there is which ones are the best ones so we wont run into trouble, also why if you are going to send the work to so many different manufacturers why didn't you make sure that the build and materials used were all of the same quality?

what date was on your original? Or no date?

There was no date on the original I know this because after reading this forums I went to check the date and couldn't find the white sticker that everyone was talking about.

oh well if somethings broken i can play the ps3 i found in there today while i wait to get a new one :p:D having a tech-savvy father is awesome! they're only getting it because they couldn't find a cheaper blu-ray player. We have an hd-dvd player for my 360, but our local blockbuster has way more blu-ray discs.:( That, and my dad is huge on disney and they only offer bluray.
Mine is dated for Oct 22 07.. stummer broke within 6 hours of gameplay.

I'll mention mine has no yellow sticker, but I can see the pink slip through the packaging tape.

mine is a WHITE sticker, and says 18-Oct-07 / Date on the bottom. Just pointing out that its not yellow (guitar broke, drums fine, mic fine).

I have a box with a white sticker dated 10-23-2007 and my guitar has made it past completing "Medium" solo play and several hours of online play. It has been getting a lot of use over the past week and no issues. Strummer still feels stiff too.
My drums have a couple of hours on them and so far no complaints.
This is for the PS3 version.

I sure hope you have a 360, or you will be really disappointed when you open the box. :D

i do. I asked specifcally for the 360 version. xbox live population is far greater than psn methinks, and i want to be able to play with my gh2 x-plorer for one of the guitars.
I'll be disappointed if i open it and gasp! out pops ps2! version. No online quickplay or dlc or >2 player mutiplayer or hd for me! bwahahahahahahah!
