I beg thee Harmonix, release the full album PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!! It would be SO FREAKING AWESOME to play the whole album all the way through, and a great tribute to Kurt Cobain. I will learn that entire album on expert on every instrument, starting with the drums, and even start my own Nirvana cover band with a tribute to Harmonix. Keep us little people in mind Harmonix, we love you ^.^

I specifically remember reading in several online reviews and from Harmonix statements that "Who's Next" by the Who and "Nevermind" by Nirvana were supposed to be DLC on the ship date of the game.

What gives with this?

I know people are anxious for the album DLC, and I know there was some word that the albums might be available pretty close to release, if not on release, but honestly, don't you all have enough content to keep you occupied for a little while? You just got a game with 58 tracks and four different unique ways by which to play them. Not to mention that they released 15 DLC tracks last week, three more today, and have confirmed that nine more songs will be out before Christmas. That's a total of 85 tracks that will be available just over a month after release. And that's not even touching the on-line or BWT modes, or the character creation and tattoo/logo editors.

Let's keep in mind that HMX got Rock Band up and running in less than a year. That's in addition to working on GHII for the 360, Rocks the 80's, GHII DLC and Phase for the iPod. And everybody knows all about the growing pains with the guitar and drum controllers. There are only so many resources available to a company, and with a release of a game this huge and complex, in a very compacted time line remember, I'll be okay if it takes a little longer than previously thought to get the album DLC tracks.

They're coming. There have been press releases and interviews with HMX employees stating such, so just sit back, enjoy your 80+ tracks, and then when they do drop, it'll be that much sweeter.

Nevermind was never announced to be ready on release of the game. Who's Next was always going to be first, Nevermind was only just recently confirmed in an interview in OXM. And none of the Albums have been given release dates or prices yet.

Very good point. After downloading the Bowie pack today, I went into my solo carrer on expert guitar to head to Tokyo and give them a shot. I havent done the bonus tour yet and Im stuck on GG&HT. When I went to click my tour, I saw "xx out of 72 complete".

I HAVE 72 TRACKS!?! This DLC is AWESOME =)

there are theroys that teh DLC albums will be launching on christmas or new years. teh current DLC schedule only goes up to dec. 18th. They could be planning on alternating album releases with song packs every few weeks to keep the DLC flow steady. all just a theroy but until they annouce something that's all we've got. and really teh current DLC schedule is pretty awesome.

i've got to admit that's one of the best moves, in my opinion, that harmonix did by allowing the DLC to be added to the solo tour mode.. if they keep releasing new DLC for it, it's a never ending game!

that's exactly what i was saying.. all the DLC is released every tuesday.. the content is announced til december 18th.. christmas is the following tuesday.. its logical to assume that there will be some sortof surprises christmas day as far as content goes..

Yup, all I ever remember reading was The Who, Who's Next would be available at or the week of release. However the actual press release simply states "the first album to be released" and "soon after the games release". http://community.rockband.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=1298

I do suspect this stuff about Nevermind may have been wishful thinking gone awry though.

Nevermind is officialy announced, but there is no release date yet. And Who's Next hasn't got one too. So we only can wait.

basically nevermind is a great album.. even though there are plenty of songs to tide me over.. i'd be officially happy if i were able to play through like 9+ songs from that cd in a set. :D like a "Cover Band Set"

You are a fanboy apologist...I don't care how many tepid side projects HMX was working on...this game was not ready for release. Essentially, the buying public has become beta testers. If Rock Band is going through "growing pains," why weren't these pains ironed out in--I don't know, this may sound crazy--pre-release testing? Surely HMX realized that kick pedals were gonna break, guitars were gonna break, drum sets would become unresponsive and sound incredibly loud when playing, and most incredibly--did no one at HMX even try using a GH3 guitar form the moment GH3 was released until RB was released? I don't know about you, but I sure would have appreciated a heads up before my Amazon preorder shipped. Unbelievable.

All this talk about a "compacted timeline." Well, who compacted the timeline? Why the hell didn't they test this pile before releasing it??

Shameful.

^^LOL^^

So let me get this straight. You don't really care about all 12 songs on Nevermind--but you think that Harmonix should just release 9 of the 12 songs? Do you realize how stupid this sounds?

Stop flaming.

He didn't say anything about a partial release. He was just excited at the prospect of playing nine or more tracks from the same artist in the same set.

listen moron. i know how this sounds. but your 5 posts deep of trolling. luckily im bored.

i dont jam along with lithum, polly, and come as you are when i play that cd in real life. i might still buy them for the **** of it or if they came all as one cd.

in a SET, where you dont take a break, i'd like it to be that you dont have to play a whole cd, but maybe a minimum of 5-7+ tunes, like how there are different types of "setlists" in BWT.

anyways, you seem to fail at life mr kurata. gg to you.

Both Nevermind and Who's Next were confirmed to be released as full album DLC, I have yet to see any news on when they will be released. It has been talked about for a while now that Who's Next was going to be one of the first things released as DLC, and since the game has come out I have heard nothing about it. I'm hoping full albums start coming out soon!

I'm not an apologist, I'm simply saying that HMX isn't just sitting around twiddling their thumbs laughing at the masses crying for their album DLC. They gave you 58 tracks, and are making available 27 more, gave you more modes of play than any one rhythm game in history, a solid on-line mode, and a groundbreaking multiplayer mode. And they're actively working on all the problems that have arisen since launch. What more do you want them to do? Mistakes were made, which was gonna happen with a game this complex. If they were gonna happen with GHII 360 and GHIII, then they were sure as hell gonna happen with this game. But all they can do now is fix them. And that's what they're doing.

On top of that, the official release time line was never announced for albums. Everybody who's complaining is doing so because HMX isn't staying true to the rumors being propagated by media sites and presumptuous forum goers.

Chill out, man.
