With the entertainment Weekly Article giving us the annocuement of our awesome handfull of albums coming to a close (Color and the Shape this week, with only Nothings Shocking and Texas Flood Remaining, aswell as the No Doubt Greatest Hits collection) when do you think Harmonix or some other source will tip us off of whats coming next in the months to start of 2009?

I kinda hope we don't get another announcement like that

I like surprises

for instance, this week Foo Fighters DLC is not as OMG YES AWESOME for my birthday as it would have been if I hadn't known months ago

Even though we got the announcement, we still got a surprise motley crue album in the meantime.

Anyways, we're still waiting on Stevie Ray Vaughn and best of No Doubt in the next two months. I think we've gotten all the others?

I think it will be just a monthly album until the next big release.

I only hope that artists realize that GHWT is a hunk of garbage and do not give their good music over to that game.

Damn I hope your hunch is correct.

I'd love to see them release Ten as a full album DLC.

Hopefully a long way a ways...getting close to xmas and im gonna be skint, so february at the earliest i hope for any more big announcements.

Im actually hoping DLC slows down, getting a lot as of late but with the likes of AC/DC game my excess change is still gonna be making its way to HMX. Ive all the DLC and id like to keep that up but it aint easy sometimes - the weekly DLC is what i look forward to every week

Where is all this Pearl Jam coming from? I'd love to have Even Flow, that was one of my favs from GH3, but I haven't heard jack s*** about more Peal Jam in RB.

And yeah, I'm expecting Guns n' Roses too, what with the album release and the Appetite re-issue. I just really hope it's either a best-of or Appetite.

The way some people on this forum get so bent out of shape over the littlest delay, I wouldn't if I were HMX. I like having an idea of what's comming thou.

Who cares? ;)

I think the ideai s they'd make the announcement to help combat sales =p

And I wouldn't say that the half-way mark means the announcement is "coming to a close."

I'd expect something a couple months before RB3 or something, but that's if they even make another announcement.

I also still think the DLC will slow down a tid after they hit 500, mostly because the devs need a break.

hopefully some Muse or OK Computer, it is the biggest album request thread in the forums so...

I hope when Chinese Democracy gets released in 2 weeks we get it for DLC on RB. That would be the best surprise ever and the best album to ever come out for DLC!

Yes the next batch of albums i hope has is...

Ten - Pearl Jam

Kill 'em All-Metallica (Master of Puppets or Ride the Lightning wouldn't be bad either)

City of Evil-Avenged Sevenfold

Stadium Arcadium-Red Hot Chili Peppers

Live at Woodstock-Jimi Hendrix (That'll never happen)

Stadium Arcadium-Red Hot Chili Peppers

26 Songs, 1:52:46 total time, 160.3 MB on my iTunes. I'm going to hope to god this isn't released simply because of time length, and the fact it's not "epic" or "legendary" as HMX likes their albums to be.

I'm also hoping the next batch of albums don't have the same kind of sound (Jane's Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters all being rock based). Spread the love, let's hit all the genres.

Alice in Chains - Dirt (Grunge)
Bob Dylan - Blonde On Blonde (Classic Rock)
Cream - Disraeli Gears (Blues)
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Cosmo's Factory (Southern Rock)
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours (Pop Rock)
Flogging Molly - Float (Celtic)
Jethro Tull - Benefit (Progressive Rock)
Radiohead - OK Computer (Alternative)
Steely Dan - Pretzel Logic (Jazz Fusion)
Sublime - Sublime (Ska Punk)
Television - Marquee Moon (Punk)

I won't speak for genre's that I don't consider myself to heavily influenced by (metal, indie, etc) so Rock oriented groups it'll be

Man Id kill for Ok Computer, but Id take the Bends over any other radiohead.

We havent heard much from Yorke and Co. since my iron lung in the 1st month rb1 was released... which is odd considering how little radiohead is with protecting their music (their masters for in rainbows are available to download already in separate sections for crying out loud)

Some albums I think that would be great for Rock Band would be:

Avenged Sevenfold - City Of Evil
This album shows Avenged Sevenfold playing their instruments to the best of their ability, and would most likely be a challenge all around.

Dream Theater - Octavarium
Personally my favorite album by Dream Theater, and in like most other Dream Theater albums the band members are at their best instrumentally. Playing the 24 minute epic Octavarium would truly prove to be fun from time to time.

Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast
Most people have heard Number of the Beast and Run to the Hills because of Guitar Hero 3 and Rock Band, and plus they are awesome songs, but the other songs on the album aren't too shabby either. Plus it's Iron Maiden, who doesn't want to play Iron Madien.

Megadeth - Rust In Peace
Hangar 18 was a blast to play on Guitar Hero 2, and so wouldn't the other songs on this album if they had only been released on a video game. This album would also prove to be challenging just like Peace Sells.

Metallica - Master of Puppets
Arguably the best metal album to ever be released, and I can see why. Battery is already in Rock Band 2, and now that YYZ was released that opens the door for Orion. An all around great album that would be fun and challenging.

Ozzy Osbourne - Blizzard of Ozz
Ever since Guitar Hero came out, I wished to play Crazy Train, too bad now its on Guitar Hero. Being faithful to just Rock Band, it couldn't hurt to get some Ozzy on Rock Band.

Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss
Not Reign in Blood, which wouldn't be bad either, Seasons in the Abyss isn't as harsh as Reign in Blood and is a more likely candidate of the two. The only problem is not too many parents would want their kids playing Slayer (or perhaps most of this list) but then again kids shouldn't be buying songs for Rock Band without their parents consent.

Pretty much all metal (yes I think Avenged Sevenfold is metal, say what you want I'm sticking to it), but there is some albums I wouldn't mind being on Rock Band, those are just my favorites.

Other notables:
Avenged Sevenfold - Waking the Fallen
Bullet for my Valentine - Scream Aim Fire
Coheed and Cambria - No World for Tomorrow
Dream Theater - Images and Words, Scenes from a Memory, Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, Train of Thought
Guns and Roses - Appetite for Destruction
HIM - Dark Light
Iron Maiden - Powerslave
Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory, Meteora
Machine Head - The Blackening
Megadeth - Killing is my Business... And Business is Good
Metallica - ...And Justice for All, Death Magnetic, Ride The Lightning
Pantera - Vuglar Display of Power
Rise Against - The Sufferer and the Witness
Shadows Fall - The War Within
Slayer - Reign in Blood, South of Heaven
Slipknot - All Hope is Gone
System of a Down - Toxicity
Testament - Practice What You Preach

Just my two cents... any of the above albums would do me fine.

maybe just before they break for x-mas, or perhaps just after the new year. I personally like not knowing what albums are coming up, i like the surprise and shock of an album announcement, like with the Judas Priest album.
