I love Ben Folds Five, but without a lead guitar it sure would be an awkward style to convert to Rock Band. I'm sure I'd still purchase anything Ben Folds they release though :).

Although if I were picking the songs I'd pretty much not pick any of the songs you chose! I'd much prefer more traditional Ben Folds Five songs like Battle of Who Could Care Less, One Angry Dwarf, Philosophy, Army, Steven's Last Night in Town, Underground, etc.

No, I'm a gigantic Ben Folds fan(not so much BFF but Ben Folds for sure), and I have to say, I'd lose my ****ing mind every time I'd hear one of his songs censored in game due to HMX's prudish censoring.

Rocking the Suburbs would work, it has a guitar/keytar in it anway. If we get any BF/F, I'd expect this.

I love any and all Ben Folds/Five. +1 more vote for "Rockin' the Suburbs." Keytar FTW. However, I don't think many of his/their other stuff would work well. Yes you could chart the piano/keyboard to the guitar (which I feel is a billion percent better than people petitioning for a keyboard controller), but it just wouldn't be the same. Some songs/bands/artists just don't translate to Rock Band.

Although I'm still anti-keyboard, maybe its introduction to Rock Band 3 will pave the way for some Ben Folds DLC.

Gotta say, any BF songs put out would be insta-buys for me. Rather than censoring Rockin' the Suburbs, HMX could possibly get their hands on the version he did for Over The Hedge. Maybe some of the other songs he did for the movie, as well (Heist?).

I'm sorry, no. I'm fine with censored versions (as I'll just ad the words in as I feel so inclined) but god dammit, I'd want the original lyrics. It's am ironic song about hipsters, and those lyrics need to stay.

Personally, I think one of his tracks is a shoo-in for the RB3 disc - the main problem is that most of his songs are guitar-less. Regardless:

I think Rockin' The Suburbs would probably be the best choice for on disc. It's a great song and fits the RB3 feel really well, IMO


And he easily has enough songs to power a 6 pack (12 pack too, but those are saved for the MONSTER acts, and he's not popular enough for that.

6 pack would likely look like:
Brick (the hit)
One Angry Dwarf (Lol devil tier keys)
Army (harmonies clearly sing the horn parts)
Philosophy (preferably a live take, if they can find one, that includes Misirlou - and then we suddenly have a candidate for hardest keys song, period.)
Zak And Sara (Great to sing, fun drums and keys)
Kate (same)

But I'm certain that HMX knows about him, and the moment they even THOUGHT about keys they went out and licensed him - and are sitting on the content.

I listened to One Angry Dwarf last night for the first time in a while...that song would be ridiculous! Possibly devil tier on keys, drums and bass. I'd take other songs from them though, I like their sound.
