Ok for one, I don't have Rock Band yet, wait til christmas but anyway i want to here from all of you what you think of Rock Band. I played on the 2007 tour and it was awesome but i only played one song and it was sufragette city from david bowie. Now i played the drums and they were freaking awesome, really durable and the peddle was nice. You didnt have to beat on the pads hard either. From my perspective they looked like they could take a beating. But i look for new stuff for Rock Band every hour or two and stay on forever. The problem is, idk if it is as great as i think its going to be so i want you to replie and rate it from 1 to 10, tell me ur fave song, fave game type, like BWT or solo career and anything thing else you want to add!

I have all the Guitar Hero games except the 80's for all consoles except PS3. I'm a huge GH fan. And Rock Band is easily a better game just because of the drums, microphone, band experience type of thing. It's Guitar Hero with drums and a mic and able to play in a band (albiet not online...you can play online, you just can't do the Band World Tour online).
I don't like the shape of the notes nor how slowly they scroll down the screen even on Expert. Other than this, and having to play the same 20 songs a billion times for a while until you start unlocking everything, it's vastly superior to Guitar Hero just because of the other instruments.
Then there's the varied song list that appeals to more people (in my experience anyway), and already lots of DLC (Metallica 3-song pack or individuals, Foo Fighters, a few covers, a whole Who album soon, lots and lots of DLC that we were promised for GH2 360 by RO that never happened).
The most fun in my opinion is simply playing the game with others. Too many times my gf and I can't get through a song because during a drum fill she won't keep time properly and it totally screws me up and we start laughing and laughing.
Even better, when we get someone brave enough to sing, it's always hilarious to listen to them try to match the pitch of the singer's voice in the song...it can easily make you start messing up and laughing your ass off in the middle of a song.
But the best is just like that stupid Fox show about knowing the lyrics to a song...people STILL sing the wrong lyrics to the song even while they are scrolling across the screen, and that is absolutely priceless and funny, and then there's the times when I think the singer thinks he knows the next line to the song and the words scrolling across the screen are different than what he thinks and so he just draws a blank and sings absolutely nothing with a strange look on his (or her!) face and that will get us all too laughing as well.
Oh, one negative is you can't play but a single instrument per character. So if you make a character and he's a bass player, he I guess has to play bass. To sing or drum you have to make a new character with that instrument. And then there's the whole nonsense on the 360 about Xbox360 profiles and how the game's characters are tied into those profiles (ie you have to have a 360 profile loaded for each instrument).
We just made a band with a character playing each instrument and then we always load that band and just choose the instrument we want to play. Sorta not cool but really just a minor complaint as the game is too much fun to let that get you down.
Rock Band 2 I'm sure will improve upon a lot of these minor issues as well as fix the one very large worry we all have right now: how long will our instruments (particularly the Fender Strat guitar) last without breaking?
There's simply too many people that have already broken the strummer on the RB Fender guitar, myself included. I can't claim I know this to be an epidemic or anything of the sort. I'm sure if 50% of all guitars were breaking, we'd definitely see a lot more people on this website than we do now. But already the number is too high. Thankfully EA and a very simple RMA page that asks you a couple things and then gives you option of regular or express return. Express you give a credit card # and they'll ship you a guitar and they won't actually charge the card unless you don't send the defective one back after 28 days.
Oh, and if you have Guitar Hero 3 for PS3, those guitars don't work with Rock Band. The Xbox360 wired Explorers do. I'm not sure about the wireless Xbox360 GH3 guitars as I don't have one.
The drums are durable. Better to go to a music store and buy some rubber plastic sticks or the kind with felt balls on the end as the drums snap very loudly with the wooden tips, and this means you have to wear headphones or turn your audio up VERY loud so the snaps don't distract you (kinda like playing the guitar on low volume and you hear the strumbar clicking over the game's audio). I duct taped foam over my tips and killed at least 50% of that annoyingly loud snap. Going to experiment with others also. Good threads in here how to dampen the sound, hit the search button.
Solo career is pretty lacking from what I'm reading around here. We've only played multiplayer co-op in the house, so I don't know anything about solo or even online yet. I might never find out as long as I have friends because this game is freaking awesome as a whole, especially with others.
That's my bits. Hope it helps. Going to go play some more now.

The game is sweet man, only reason I'm taking a break right now is to grab a bite to eat and check forums and then i'm straight back to it until I'm about to pass out. Then that's when I dream I'm playing the game while I sleep, yes. It's that much awesome in a box.

I like the way the notes are shaped in RB as opposed to GH because after playing GH for hours straight the effin walls looked like they were melting and my eyes would cross from it

I was worried that the game wouldn't live up to my expectations but man was I wrong. It's so much fun that I need to take a week's vacation to leave my house and get a hotel room so I can finally get some sleep. I have mostly played the drums and the game is almost worth it just for them. They are tons of fun.
I also started a band for BWT where i sing and play guitar. It's hard but fun especially since i never thought i would try the singing.
I just wish i would never have bought GH3 cause i will probably never touch it again.

nah Guitar Hero is still cool for playing alone and getting achievements and such, but Rock Band is the new party game, and not limited to only 2 players at a time. It's good like a Wii is good, but connects us by music so is probably a little better as it's not as general as a Wii (though almost as expensive as a Wii lol)
