I have the PS3 version of RB, and I (and several other PS3 owners in the threads so far) have found that the batteries only last a couple of hours using the RB guitar. I've tried different types of batteries (Energizer Titanium, Duracell, rechargeables) and two hours has been the longest that a set of three has lasted). I've played my wireless GHIII PS3 guitar for at least 100 hours on the original batteries (and going). 100 hours is probably above the call of duty, but 2 hours is ridiculous.
If you have the PS3 guitar, please respond noting how long a set of batteries lasts on your guitar. It would be great to have all the PS3 players chip in with their experiences with battery life so we can know if it's certain guitars or if they're all like this.
Thanks!

So far I've had 2 get togethers about... 6 hours each. So 12 hours and the batteries that came with the game are still working fine.

I have the same issue, I've gone though about 26 batteries and I just finally beat the game on expert (guitar)
I called in for a replacement - Must be a faulty guitar

Hi Path0gen1, on another thread someone referred to a pair of batteries lasting 8 hours, so since you noted "26 batteries" I thought I'd double-check that your guitar actually uses a set of three batteries. It made me wonder if there are "two-battery" guitars and "three-battery" guitars. Unlikely, but I thought I should confirm!

Played for about 2-3 hours before changing batteries... Strums and frets start to get missed shortly before the guitar conks out.

That makes me wonder if it's really my guitar being stupid or maybe the batteries are just starting to die. I'll have to check that out before sending my guitar back for a new one.

I think I'm somewhere around there too, but it's hard to say. Since Tuesday I've probably played the game for almost 20 hours, but it was split about evenly between guitar and drums.
Speaking of batteries though, does anyone think crappy batteries can be what's causing some of the strumming issues (not registering quick strums)? Someone else proposed that idea, and I'm not sure if anyone has tested it out.

I think the majority of the guitars are probably actually screwed up rather than it being the batteries. I just hope that in my case it's the batteries, but it's probably just wishful thinking..
