60 Day warranty according to the insert inside the box.

I would personally like Harmonix/MTV/EA to make a kind gesture and (in a move similar to 360's Red Ring of Death) increase the warranty's life span.

I heard originally it was supposed to be a one year warranty, I would be very happy knowing that the investment I have put into this "music platform" would not be risk being a drop in the bucket of having to buy a new guitar or the like every two or three months.

I would be grateful for the simple event that whenever the replacement guitar and drums are shipped out (Tracking shows nothing sent out yet) that everything works dandy and that there are no problems for the next 3 or so years. I would be happy without an extended warranty if I did not need it at all. :)

60 day is worrisome as thats not very long, and it seems the parts are going to go out around that time. if it was 60 day and the instruments were sturdy and lasts then that'd be ok, but im thinking a good 3 year warranty is needed, or at least a 1 year.

ive been telling my friend that if they're going to rock out then rock out now while i'm in the warranty period.

It seems to me that the parts are going out much sooner than that.

I bought the extended 15 month warranty at Toys R Us for another $3.99. I had a feeling these things weren't going to be built too well. 60 days is going to be a BIG problem. The insides of the guitars would be better if they were made with rubber bands and popcicle sticks, and i'm not joking. There will be a lot of unhappy people, because unless they up the quality of these pieces, they are going to be breaking constantly. What a sad thing for such a cool game. I would have paid a bit more money to get something that was built better.

I think a 1-3 years is a little too much to ask. Any number of things can happen in that span of time, and it's not really the company's fault at that point. There's no accounting for how much damage people will do to these things over time, and it's not EA/HMX's job to replace those. I don't even know who offers warranties that long anymore. 60-90 days seems pretty standard. The Xbox360 is a bit different, because Microsoft had to react to a huge problem to try to save face.

My main concern is the replacement guitars. If they stop working just like the original ones, are we allowed to send those back for yet another replacement? Is there a warranty on them at all?

They have to allow the warranty to apply to the replacement. it wouldn't make any sense if they didn't and in fact I believe it is the law in many states.

Here's what I'm worried about.

I bought mine Nov. 20th and giving it to the kids on Christmas. That's 36 days off my warranty right there. What are they going to do about that, since we let it sit for over a month before we opened it?

Just make sure your kids play it a lot soon after opening it, and the stuff will break quickly if it is going to at all. The good news is that by then you would hope they have everything fixed and the new instruments you get will last much longer.

I would like to see the warrenty for all these issues that I'm reading about extended as to show customer support that we care about our customers for purchasing their equipment from them. I would like to at least see 2 years max for a warrenty period. It would be very important to make the customer happy. you guys are going to have a great christmas with all the money you are making, but give us a great present as well and make us happy. if you stand behind your product and say, we honor our product and show you with a 2 year warrenty that we are serious about our customers and clients.

I don't know what kind of proof of purchase EA needs, but play like you just bought it. I'm sure EA would rather have happy customers.
