I'm so damned apathetic, haha, I'm a senior, and I JUST took em' like three weeks ago.
26 Overall
20 in Math and Science,
29 in English
and
34 in Reading.
knew math and science would kill me, but I was glad to see that my two best scores were English and Reading, as I am look towards stuff like that in College and/or life.
Anyone else care to share?

I have not taken the ACT, but on the prep tests, I get WAY above average on reading and english... but average/mediocre on math and science.

I took them ... shoot, almost 5 years ago now, I think. My composite was a 29. I think I had a 30 on Reading, 29 on Science, and 28 on Math and English? Something along those lines. I just know for certain the composite was a 29.

nice.
Yeah. Now I'm REALLY regretted not taking them earlier...cuz heck...last year I didn't take a science class, and I forgot pretty much everything but basic Algebra over the summer.
I think I could have done A LOT better, but I'm content with what I got.
Still waiting on the Writing score...doubt that was too good, my essay SUCKED because I didn't care for the topic

I took mine like 8 years ago. Think I got like a 31 or something. It kinda sucks when you score high, because when you get to college and slack off you counselors like to look at ACT scores and say you can do better then this and suggest classes that you have no interest in that are hard for the sake of being hard.

Not entirely sure what it is, but you take it independently, and have to take it now to get into college

It's comparable to the SAT.

Ah. Explains why I never took it, it probably wasn't mandatory at the time.

most likely. I'm not entirely certain how long it's been mandatory, but I'm relatively sure it's pretty new

You got a 34 on reading! thats really good, i got like a 22 on reading but a 29 on math...I dont remember the others but my composite score was 27. I just took it once cuz I'm to lazy to take it again and I'm in the top 10% so I'm ridin on that.

I ended up with a composite 31 (20 years ago).
I got a 26 or so on English*
I got 33s and 34s on the rest.
* - should actually have been my strongest subject but it was first, and my father, an alcoholic, tried to get into a fistfight with me just before I left. Needless to say it took a bit to calm down from that and get focused, and my score suffered.

Everyone had to take it last year. State (KY) mandated the test, but we didn't have to pay for it.
22 Composite
27 Science
25 Math
18 English
20 Reading
I love how we havnt done anything with english except read books which are considered middle school level in high school. Kentucky education sucks.
I wish the ACT/SAT had a section on History/Political Sciences. Considering how alot of people barely know anything about the country they live in, it would be beneficial.

I got a 29 composite. 34 on English, 26 on reading, and 28s on Science and Math I believe.

You could have been like me
19 Composite...
26 or 27 on Science/Math/Reading apeice (Reading might have been like 22 or something I can't remember)
and
****ING 12 on English. Give me a break. Pissed me off lol. I tried & I was pretty sure I got most of them right. I felt comfortable with the English, but when I got the paper back I was like WTF seriously? Whatever. I'm not wasting anymore monies on it when I don't need a higher score for no reason

I got a composite 32. Not great, but it served its purpose. If I had it to do again I wouldn't have taken it on 3 hours sleep.

I find these tests and their results to be fascinating.
We don`t really have anything comparable in Canada, except for the specific interviews that some post-secondary institutions have.

When I was in college, I worked as an RA on a floor full of freshmen. During orientation, one of the things I would always say was: "Remember, now that you're all here, no one wants to hear about your SAT scores."
It's remarkable how vital the ACT and SAT seem when you're trying to get into college, and how totally irrelevant to life they turn out to be the moment that little bit of nastiness is taken care of.

Oh totally, that's like the ENTIRE reason I was really dissapointed with the essay topic, because it was the stupidest, unimportant thing ever.
Call me naive, but I actually thought the ACT essay would be something like, I don't know, I could look back on in 20 years and think, "Hey, I actually stood for something that mattered in the world,"
I don't even care about it now, since I know I can get into college with a 26, and the 34/29 on Reading and English is alright I guess because I want to do something English related.
Math and Science have always been the subjects that don't matter to me, because they most likely won't apply in my life...
