DLC Issues

So I have been having a problem with DLC I bought off of LIVE a while ago. The problem is that every time I try to play downloaded songs offline the game basically crashes and goes back to the previous menu. The game tells me that their is a problem with the song selected but if I play while I am on LIVE the problem doesn't happen. This only started when I bought a new XBOX 360 after my previous one got stolen. I figure that the reason that the songs don't work offline, is because the serial code number of my new system is different than my old system, and when your buy songs on LIVE the DRM of the song sticks to that number of the system allowing you to play it offline. So my question is if I were to make another gamertag and re-bought the songs I already own on my gamertag,on my new 360, would the DRM of that song encode to my new system allowing me to be able to be played offline?

That would work, but why pay money for something you already bought?...there is a way to transfer the DRM to your new console, check on the xbox.com page to find out how... ;)

i had this problem and the previous poster is correct. my issue was i had to return my xbox for service (RRoD) and they sent me a new one. At that point i could not play offline until i did a license transfer at xbox.com.

you have to be logged in to both xbox.com (via computer) and xbox live (via xbox 360) to begin the transfer. it's a really easy process.

same here. once I did the license transfer, everything was ok.
