Australia - Can't access any songs in Rock Band 1 Store...helpppp

Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone can help. We just won a PS3 and Rock Band 1 so we're not really up with it when it comes to using the PS3 yet.
But... ever since we received everything (nearly 3 weeks ago) we have not been able to buy anything from the Rock Band store. All of the songs say 'Purchased' ???
We just today realised that we could access the PS3 store and find Rock Band songs for purchase there...so we bought one just to test it out. We downloaded it...waited for it to finish...and when we went back into the game ...it was no where to be found. We've just spent the last hour trying to work out what could have happened to our song??? lol aaargh!!

Anyway, I was just wondering....does anyone know why our Rock Band store wouldn't be working???
..and..
does anyone have any suggestions at all as to what could have happened to our downloaded song from the PS3 store???

I'd reallllllly appreciate any help anyone can offer

because songs that may be released on the US store are not yet released on the Australia store yet. you will just have to give it some time

Thanks for your reply. I wish it was just a case of waiting for the Aussie store ...but we have a friend who also has a PS3 and Rockband 1 and he has no problem accessing anything. He can download songs via both the Rockband & the PS3 store.
I can't work out why it won't work for us too.

pomozy, I am having the same problem as you! I have downloaded 25 songs and there seems to be no way for me to access them within the game. If you find a solution please post it here. Have you tried to get a refund from the Playstation Store for the new tracks that you purchased?

guicookie....thanks for letting me know that the same thing is happening to you too. At least now I know it's not just us. Isn't it so frustrating!!!!

We're still trying to work out what's going on but we're completely stumped.
No we haven't contacted playstation to ask for our money back...we're waiting on a reply from the game maker at the moment ...hopefully they'll have a solution. Mind you, we contacted them 3 or 4 days ago and there is still no reply so I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever hear from them.
If I do find out what's causing this though I will definitely post it on here. Can you do the same too?

Wow. I'm having a problem halfway down from OP's, in that I can download almost all of the DLC, but I cannot REdownload (not a problem right now, but it could be in the future), some songs are listed as purchased even though I don't have them, and some are not listed at all.

Anyway, to the folks who have managed to purchase and download the songs, check whether you installed them once you downloaded them. If they downloaded properly you should be able to find them in the "Game" column/menu and install them. Once they're installed the game should be able to see them. If you did install them and they still don't work.. then I don't have any suggestions except for contacting EA.

I understand they're not available, but the inconsistency in how this is displayed is what's concerning.
I can completely understand why Peace Sells would be unavailable, because the pack is missing a song which is on the RB2 disc. But then why is Colour and the Shape available sans Everlong? Peace Sells and Moving Pictures are not even displayed on the Rock Band storefront at all, but they are displayed on the AU PSN store (attempting to buy it causes an error). Meanwhile, Blood Sugar Sex Magik is on the Rock Band storefront, but all the songs were listed as "Purchased", but it is not displayed on the AU PSN store.
Don't release DLC available in the states all at once, fine, though that too requires an explanation since this DLC is apparently directed from the EU PSN. But regardless of how you look at it this is a screwy, inconsistent store that does not inspire consumer confidence.

you also need to look about how the AUS version was just recently released. of course if youre impatient you can import the US version and make a US account to play them

aznman08...if this is the reason.. can you please explain why my sons friend (who just bought Rockband on Wednesday last week) can purchase songs from the rockband store yet we can't??? (and just in case you're wondering...no, he's not accessing the US store)
There's obviously something wrong but we have no idea what....and we've tried pretty much everything. It's getting very frustrating.
Robert...thanks for your reply...yes we did install our song but we can't find it anywhere obviously we've got one of the ones that aren't available in Aus just yet. We're hoping that it'll show up eventually. :p
In the meantime we're 'still' waiting on a reply from EA.

i've bought australian dlc content its just that my copy of rock band is american therefore the disc wont add the songs to my rockband 1. different problem to what you were saying aznman. however you mentioned making the american account and i have tried this its just that you need an american adress to make one of these and i dont have that.

I think I might know what the problem is. On the actual game disc box, is there a T (for teen) in the bottom left hand corner? You said you won this 3 weeks ago, which is before the release of the Australian version of Rockband. So, I'm thinking the version you have is the American version, in which case, any downloaded content from the Australian store will not work. I haven't seen an Australian Rockband disc box before, but I assume the icon in the bottom left hand corner has something other than T, probably PG or something.

Correctamundo... the Aussie release is PG and should have a region 4 icon on the back... the US release will probably have a region 1 icon on the spine of the cover.

If you've got the US version, you can only buy extra songs from the US PSN Store (meaning you need to create another User ID and PSN account and use some bogus US address... then use a virtual CC like Entropay to buy tracks).

If you've got the AU version, you can only buy songs from our PSN Store, which apparently is the same as Europe's but it isn't. All new tracks since the game's release (Nov. 6) have appeared in our store, but past releases (ie. All That Remains Pack, Locksley Pack, Nirvana Track Pack, Pax 2008, and a few individual tracks) all appear with "PURCHASED" next to them, and ironically, we can't purchase them.

Seriously, fix the DLC Harmonix.

It shouldn't be region locked to begin with. It isn't on the XBOX 360. We here in Australia *SHOULD* be entitled to access the same content that *IS* available to everyone else in the US/UK and Europe!

No word from either EA, Harmonix or Sony. I've contacted all 3, but either hear nothing, or they pass the buck onto the other company.

I worked out what was wrong with mine...it 'was' from the US! We won ours and like Spicorr & Graffin said ..the only way for us to purchase games is to set up an online bogus account so we can buy from the USA store. BUT..apparently we can't even do that anymore. :confused: So we're just going to go out and buy the Aussie version...it'll be so much easier in the long run. Just wish the game makers wouldn't make things so darn difficult ...I really don't understand why we all can't just access the 'same songs' in the 'same store'!
Anyway...we're still enjoying the game...so in the end that's the main thing hey.
