It's actually really cool to live in Orlando and be able to see the space shuttles launch from my front door.
I went to a launch one time; the noise and sight is just incredible.

But isn't Orlando one of the most crime ridden cities in America? I remember when Michigan was playing Florida on New Year's and they were warning us about Orlando and to stay in groups. How sad is that when we live in a state that houses Detroit.

I've certainly never heard of such a thing. There's a really bad part of town in Pine Hills (dubbed Crime Hills), and a trail called Econ that gets the occasional rape/murder case, but it's not that bad, I don't think
I think most commotion about Orlando being a crime town is due to the Caylee Anthony story, maybe
Orlando's such an odd city - I've lived here all my life, and I often forget Disney World's in my backyard since I've been so many times. 4th of July and New Year's are amazing though, because I can see Disney, Sea World, and Universal across my lake and see all the fireworks. It's fantastic

I missed the launch >:(
And, yes, Orlando is a big steaming pile of dung.
