Check out The Olivia Tremor Control and The Apples in Stereo, those are the other 2 main Elephant 6 bands besides Neutral Milk Hotel. The Mountain Goats also have lo-fi/indie leanings, though they aren't quite as obsessed with Anne Frank. I'm not as familiar with Andrew Jackson Jihad, so someone else might have to help you on that.
Thank you guys I will for sure check this stuff out
Not Tonight's Decision! I have a giant boner for Katatonia, but that album just doesn't do it for me. Last Fair Deal Gone Down is easily their best, followed by Discouraged Ones.
I agree! Focus is great, but Traced In Air is just on another level. It's... perfect.
i've recently DL'ed full discographies for the following bands:
Yo La Tengo (exclude "I Am Not Afraid Of You...")
Pulp
Blur (exclude Parkilife which i already had b4)
Nine Inch Nails
Slowdive
Lush
where do i begin with for these bands because sometimes it can be intimidating having so much music and no idea where to start.
I think I already told you, but.
The first 3 Pulp albums aren't good. They each contain a "few" good songs. You want to start with His N' Hers, then go in order from there. Different Class -> This Is Hardcore -> We Love Life.
For Blur, just go in order. All of their albums are good (except for The Great Escape IMO).
